ANNOUNCEMENTS
As we begin the joyous season of Advent, let us join
together as the family of God to worship our Creator. All
are sincerely welcome as we approach the throne of
grace. May God bless us all!
BAPTISMS THIS MORNING:
 WITH GREAT JOY at our 8:15 a.m. service this
morning, Kennidi Lynn Goble , child of Justin & Laurie
Goble, is received by God into His family through Baptism.
Kennidi ’s sponsors are A.J. & Marissa Franzen. God bless
Kennidi in her Baptism!
 We celebrate the Baptism of
Morgan Mae Nordby this morning at
our 10:30 a.m. service this morning. Morgan’s parents are Lee
& Bethany Nordby and her sponsors are Julie Dengerud
and Chuck Athmann. God bless Morgan on her Baptism.
ADVENT IS HERE – TODAY is the First Sunday of Advent. It
is the day when the church officially begins to prepare for
Christmas. Advent means “coming,” therefore,
we make ready for the coming of the Lord.
Where should we begin? With ourselves, of
course. We should prepare our hearts for Christ to live in them
fully. Get rid of the clutter within — the odds and ends of foolish
thoughts and familiar sins we find difficult to “let go and let God
handle.” Advent is heart-cleaning time, so call in the Holy Spirit
Cleaning Service, and make room for the best Guest anyone
ever had. Start now! Let the Spirit “Cast out our sin and enter
in. Be born in us today” (from “O Little Town of Bethlehem”).
The cleaning service has a guarantee: “When our ‘Worker’
finishes with your heart, you’ll have the best Christmas ever!”
The color for the Advent season is “Blue.”
After eating too much on Thanksgiving, the thing I'm
most thankful for right now is elastic waistbands. ~Author

WOMEN’S CENTER OF MID-MINNESOTA - The holidays
are approaching quickly and although we
are able to offer the precious gift of safety
and meet basic needs of the families, we
rely on the generosity of the Lakes Area to
assist us in providing the more tangible
signs of sharing during the Christmas
season. The anxiety of leaving behind everything they own in
exchange for safety in a violence-free environment is difficult for
anyone to comprehend. The reality of not being able to provide
gifts for their children during the Christmas season only adds to
the immense emotional and financial strain for these families. In
the past, we have been fortunate for the giving spirit of the
Lakes Area which has made the holiday season brighter for
countless families. We are asking you, the members of our
community, to help us continue this holiday spirit by making a
cash contribution, purchase gifts, or to adopt a family and
directly make the holiday a special time for someone in need.
Please contact Rita at 218-828-1216 and together we can make
a difference in meeting the needs of women and children in our
community this 2014 holiday season giving. If you would like
to purchase a gift, please look over the list on the web.
www.womenscenteronline.org or see Joe in the church
office and he will print you list.

musical group “O³” which is; Carolyn Norquist, Lawrence
Severt, and Jim Lease and “you the audience” will have

Sunday School Mission Project:
Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of
a truly merry Christmas. - Peg Bracken
This time of year is often filled
with thinking about what we want. Our
mission project for the remainder of the
year is to make a point to do something
for others. Parents include your children,
continue to teach them about giving.
Examples would be: Providing food (i.e. Thanksgiving
baskets), clothing and toys for families to enable them to
experience the joy of the Christmas Season, and/or giving a
Christmas gift to the Women’s Center. Giving warmth, love and
hope. Send a letter or card, make a call to someone you haven’t
talked to in a while, give a hug or listen to someone who needs
a friend. Bring someone a home baked treat. Shovel the
neighbor’s sidewalk. Volunteer. Take your pick, or think of your
own, there are so many ways we can share God’s love.
We will have a “Gifts of Love” tree and you can
hang your ornament on the tree, listing your gift of love.
Carpenters – Handymen - Handywomen~ The Library
Committee is looking for someone willing
to build shelving or stabilize current
shelving for the videos in the church
library. If you are willing to check out the
problem and possibly to fix it, contact Lucille Kirkeby or Jacki
Mehr. Thanks!!
The Advent Festival was a GREAT SUCCESS!
The Advent Festival last Sunday was a fun
intergenerational event that provided a
wonderful opportunity for our families and
friends to spend time together making
projects for their homes as well as providing gifts for Trinity’s
home-bound members. Thank you to everyone who helped with
the Festival. It took a large number of volunteers to help by
making treats, baking breads for our homebound members,
serving refreshments, leading and assisting with activities, and
of course, clean-up. We had a large number of new volunteers
– what a blessing! To the many returning volunteers: you
probably don’t realize how grateful I am that you help out
unselfishly year after year; thank-you. And a very special thanks
to the planning team of Marion Carter and Sharon Jensen.
You two are wonderful! Thanks, Jacki Mehr
NEXT SUNDAY IS NOISY CAN SUNDAY!! - Every first
Sunday of the month, we will have a “NOISY
CAN SUNDAY” for the purpose of collecting
some coins for the ELCW World Hunger
program. At the beginning, several metal cans
will be passed through the congregation to collect the loose
change in your pocket. It is surprising how pocket adds up!
Thank You!!
NEXT SUNDAY IS FOOD SHELF SUNDAY!! –Trinity's Food
Shelf is being used by more people
who are in need. Please consider
bringing a food item or making a
monetary donation to Trinity's Food
Shelf.
2015 TRINITY CALENDARS – We have 2015 Trinity
calendars available for Trinity members courtesy of Nelson
Doran Funeral Home. The calendars are located on the
Welcome Center. Please take 1 or 2 home with you.
STEWARDSHIP REPORT – We give thanks to God and to
each one of you for your faithfulness in giving. We praise God
for continually providing all that we need. Let each of us
prayerfully consider our pattern of giving and seek God’s
direction so that we are offering Him what He desires.

DID YOU KNOW TRINITY HAS A BUSINESS
DIRECTORY?? ALSO, FOR THE TRINITY BUSINESS
MEMBERS WHO ARE LISTED IN OUR BUSINESS
DIRECTORY; IT’S TIME TO UPDATE THE
INFORMATION. The purpose of the Business Directory is
to showcase the various services of our
Trinity members. When you need a
painter, a plumber, a handyman, a
roofer, a doctor, a dentist, a veterinarian,
a hair stylist, a financial counselor, an estate planner or any
other business or service provider, would you prefer doing
business with a member of your church rather than
randomly selecting a name out of the phone book? OF
COURSE!! Do you know ALL the members of your church
that provide the services listed above? PROBABLY NOT! Why
does your church need an online business directory? It is
well-known that people feel more comfortable doing
business with someone they have something in common
with rather than a complete stranger. It is also well-known
that some businesses are struggling to survive in today’s
difficult economic environment. The goal is to have it
available on our website as well as copies made
that can be added to the church pictorial
directory. From a link on our church website, you
will have instant access to an online business
directory listing the businesses and services
provided by FELLOW CHURCH MEMBERS. Trinity Lutheran
Church will not endorse or promote any of these businesses,
but merely provide the information as a resource. A
directory is simply a list of professionals or businesses, and
no recommendations or guarantees will be made regarding
the quality of service you might expect from any of those
listed. This Directory will only list businesses and services
provided by Trinity members. For more information, or to
sign up, OR to update your information; please see
Joe or Joan in the church office (218-825-9059) or

Bethany Good Samaritan Bake Sale - Plan to attend the

at 804 Wright Street. There will be free Santa photos, a Silent
Auction, Christmas cookies and apple cider, and you can register
for prizes. Questions - contact Liz Csanda at 825-2505.

keep you focused on the true meaning of Christmas all season
long. This is an outdoor experience so dress
warmly. Soup/chili, Christmas cookies, and a hot beverage will
be served indoors. In 2012, over 300 people enjoyed
"CHRISTmas Journey at Bethlehem" and you won't want to miss
it. Bring your families and invite your neighbors!
