10:25 a.m. – November 30, 2014 WELCOME TO FRIENDSHIP COMMUNITY CHURCH! “Where you have a friend in Jesus and a friend in us” The word Advent means "coming" or "arrival." The focus of the entire season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ in His First Advent and the anticipation of the return of Christ the King in His Second Advent. Today is the first Sunday of Advent. The first candle we light today is the Hope Candle. This is a personal hope we have in Jesus and a hope we are called to share with others. It is our prayer that God will speak to each one of us through His Word and Spirit and that we will share our hope in Jesus with others this Christmas! Please be thinking of ways to better prepare your heart to celebrate Christmas this year. Are there ways you could simplify your Christmas in order to focus more on the birth of Christ? FCC is committed to helping parents focus on worship each Sunday by providing a friendly and caring NURSERY for children ages 3 and under. The Nursery is located out the east door just past the kitchen. Children ages 4 through 4th Grade are invited to FRIENDSHIP COMPANY during the message this morning! Everyone is invited to enjoy refreshments and conversation before the service today! Verse of the Month For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 Thought As we do our Christmas shopping let’s remember that Jesus is the only gift we all desperately need. What’s Happening? SUNDAY NIGHT FRIENDSHIP LIFE GROUP, meets 6:30 -7:30 pm at the Schaap’s home. Join us as we go through the book of Galatians and be encouraged by the gospel of grace and the fruits of the Spirit. HER HEALTH WOMEN’S CENTER (FORMERLY ALPHA CENTER) NEEDS YOU! With anticipation of more clients in our new location at 5732 Sunnybrook Drive, Her Health Women’s Center is actively searching for more volunteers to assist with office work and/or train to become a client advocate. Currently, our most critical need is 2 or 3 sonographers willing to give two mornings or afternoons a month, or nurses willing to be trained. This position could grow into more hours, possibly with pay, as we grow toward our goal of being the FIRST CHOICE for anyone facing an unintended pregnancy. If you are interested in any type of volunteering, please give Kristi, our Client Services Director, a call at 712-276-0237. Let's serve together for LIFE.
