Our educational sessions are designed to meet the
needs of growers with information on production
practices, pest and disease control, processing,
marketing, agritourism, food safety and legislative/
regulatory concerns. The Congress is also a
wonderful opportunity to reacquaint with old
friends and business contacts, as well as form
new connections. We have several luncheons and
banquets planned to encourage networking with
specialists and other growers. We hope you’ll visit
the trade show and make contact with vendors
of equipment, seeds, plant protection products,
processed foods, irrigation supplies, etc. that
you need to make your business successful. Our
trade show, featuring over 70 exhibitors, is always
popular with attendees.
Lastly, I encourage you to join the industry
organizations most relevant to your operation.
These organizations provide a valuable forum
to address issues of collective concern to your
industry and provide the opportunity to speak with
Hotel Reservations
The Wyndham Indianapolis West, is located near
the Indianapolis airport, just off the Sam Jones
Expressway. There is a free hotel shuttle service
to and from the airport every half hour. A special
rate of $92.00 for a regular two bed or king bed
room, $142.00 for a one-bed suite, and $192.00 for
a hospitality suite is available. To take advantage
of this special rate please make your reservation
by January 4, 2015. Please ask for the IHC room
block rate. Reservations made after January 4 will
be accepted based on availability and may be at a
higher rate. Beware of scams, contact Wyndham
Hotel directly to make your reservations. Wyndham
Hotel or anyone from our organization will not
contact you to make a reservation.

Mary Beth Williams is President of Williams Compliance and Consulting Group, LLC, which provides compliance services and legal consulting to the alcohol beverage
industry. She works with wineries and other producers, with a focus on the day to day compliance issues and trade practice parameters within which industry members must
function.
Jeff Manley, General Manager of The Rock Ranch and the founding and past President of the Georgia Agritourism Association. Mentored by the late S.Truett Cathy, founder
of Chick-fil-A. He serves on the University of Georgia’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Advisory Council, the Gordon State College Foundation Board,
and Board of Directors for United Bank. Jeff is the founding Vice Chair and current board member of the Barnesville/Lamar Community Foundation and also serves on the
Community Foundation of Central Georgia Board of Directors.
Greg Lang, Professor of Horticulture at Michigan State University, is known internationally for his expertise in cherry production. In recent years he has been experimenting
with growing sweet cherries in high tunnels.
George C Kalogridis has been a member of the Organic Community since the 80’s. He is a founding member of the Florida Organic Growers, served on the Organic
Advisory Council for the State of Florida and is a former Board Member of the Organic Trade Association. He is a member of the Organic FDA Advisory Taskforce and member
of National Organic Program working group on Materials.
Cheryl Carter Jones is a board member and immediate past president of the Local Growers’ Guild, is currently a member of the Indiana Grown Commission and a member of
the Indiana Farm Market Association. She has participated in the IU Food Summit, IU/PU Food Studies Conference and is a member of the Farm Indiana Advisory Board.
Summer Cooper and her sister had the opportunity to harvest and sell wild garlic which was growing abundantly on their property. Today she owns Sunny Creek Farm which
focuses on wild and perennial crops.

Indiana Pesticide Applicator Certification
Private Applicator Recertification Program
Private Applicator Exam
A Private Applicator Recertification Program (PARP)
is being offered for those who currently have a Private
Applicator's license and need recertification. A person
with a Private Applicator's License must attend at least
three recertification programs within five years to maintain
certification. A maximum of two recertification programs per
year can be credited towards recertification. You will need
to attend 90 minutes of qualifying presentations during
the program and then the PARP certification session on
Wednesday, January 21 at 4:45pm or Thursday, January
22 at 3:30pm. At the conclusion of this session, see the
Purdue Cooperative Extension Educator in charge of the
session and make sure you sign the attendance sheet.
Make sure to bring: • Cash or check for $10.00 fee
• Private applicator license number
Purdue Pesticide Programs will offer an opportunity for
individuals to take the Pesticide Core Exam to receive a
Private Applicator Permit on Wednesday, January 21 at
4:45pm. This will be an “Exam Only” and individuals will
need to purchase the study materials (PPP-C Indiana
Pesticide Applicator Training Manual) from Purdue Media
Distribution Center 1-888-398-4636 or www.ces.purdue.
edu/new/. Cost of the manual is $30.00 plus shipping and
handling. Credit cards are accepted.
• Each examinee will be required to present a
government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license.
• There is no charge to take the exam, but we request
that you check the box on the registration form so that
we can plan accordingly.
• Information can be found at www.btny.purdue.edu/ppp/.
• Those who pass the exam will be sent a private
applicator permit form and a request for $20.
• After receiving the completed form and fee, Office
of the Indiana State Chemist will issue the private
applicator permit.
Continuing Certification Hours (CCHs)
We will also offer Continuing Certification Hours (CCHs) for
licensed commercial applicators in category 1. Please ask
at the registration desk for a complete list of sessions, their
times and locations.
