Similarly, vehicles from Nerul cannot take SionPanvel highway from LP junction. They have to go via Palm Beach Road. Even vehicles coming from Panvel will have to enter Nerul from Uran Phata instead of LP junction. Garbage proposal to take off in January The general body and standing committee of NMMC may have cleared the garbage collection and transportation proposal this month but the actual work is likely to take off by January end. Now contractors are planning to buy new 119 vehicles and small tempos for collection of garbage and its transportation. Responding to a question raised by Congress leaders Sanjay Dutta and Bhai Jagtap and others, Fadnavis said the process of getting permits and licences from the various departments will be completed by next January and the first phase of the airport will begin operations by 2019. The proposed airport has already acquired 592hectares of land and all major clearances had been received. “Only a few sanctions are pending and we expect to have all the clearances by January 2015,” he said.
