Trees are being cut down where needed, leaks in pipes fixed, and equipment overhauled. There are times we stay busy in the shop as much as on the golf course. • Other than tree removal, our biggest project this winter will be fixing a leak in an 8 inch diameter pipe under #17 fairway. This will involve removal of sod, digging a relatively large hole with our back hoe, and repairing the pipe. We are hoping to contain the work to a 1 or 2 day job. That being said, you rarely know exactly what you might find once you start digging. We will do our best not to disrupt play while the work is under way. • Chemical safety is always a concern for anyone enjoying our facility. There are no products that we use that would be harmful to people or their pets. Our most frequently applied fungicide, Chlorothalonil, is mainly used for peanuts and orchard crops. The average person comes in contact with more fungicides in the grocery store then on our greens. Our main goal in proper Integrated Pest Management is to only use herbicides and pesticides when damage to the desired plant exceeds an allowable threshold. When applying chemicals to your home lawn or garden remember that you risk chemical exposure the most when mixing and loading. Always read the label and follow the directions on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • Remember to call ahead to the Pro Shop and check on frost delays. If the air temperature gets below 40 degrees at night there is always a chance of frost in the morning, especially when soil temperatures are already low. When there is a delay, we will get you out there as soon as possible. See you on the course, Patrick • MONTHLY BILLING CYCLE: Members have the Calendar month (1st – 30th or 31st) in which to fulfill your Dining Minimum. Please remember not to wait until the end of the month to call for reservations. In some cases, we may be booked therefore; you would not meet your minimum for the month. Remember: Parties such as Birthdays, Book Clubs, Golf Dining, Super Clubs, Weddings, etc. Do Not Count Towards Minimums. • MEMBERSHIP DUES: Any member whose dues are in arrears more than 30 Days will be notified that all privileges of membership are automatically suspended and shall not be reinstated except upon payment of all delinquencies. Suspension of any member more than one time during any 12 month period shall be cause for revocation of Club membership at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Any former member whose membership has been revoked under this section, shall, upon reapplication for membership, be required to pay all delinquencies plus the current initiation fee as prescribed by the Board of Directors. • MEMBERSHIP STATUS CHANGE: Please remember to contact the office with any changes that may reflect your membership status. Example: Marriage, Divorce, Spouse’s Death, Change of Address or have reached the age of 72 and been a continuous member for 10 years. We will be happy to assist you, so please call us if anything changes. Remember: If you are over the age of 80 and have been a continuous member for 25 years, you are eligible for the Super Senior Membership. Social 2 Membership may be a better option for you and your family. It includes the Pool, Tennis Courts and Dining Room. Golf can be played by paying the current guest fee. The membership dues are half the “Regular” dues and the dining room minimum is double the “Regular” minimum. Call the office if you have a friend who would like to join the club. • HAVEN’T RECEIVED YOUR STATEMENT?: If it is past the 6th of the month and you have not received your statement, please give the office a call at 946-1514 extension 3 so that I can resend it to you. In order to see what is happening at the club, please go to our website wyccnc.com to download the Newsletter and Calendar. Again, if you do not have a computer or have explicitly directed the office to not send statements by email, your statements will come in the mail as normal along with your newsletter. • CONCERNS?: As always, if you have a problem with your meal or dining experience, please ask to see our chef immediately so that he can make the rest of your dining experience more pleasurable. • NOTICE!: Beginning July 1st , the WYCC Golf Course and Pro Shop will be closed on Mondays until further notice. This will allow for course maintenance to be completed without the interference of play and will allow a single day of rest for the course greens. Beginning October 1st, the WYCC Marina/Fuel Dock will be closed on Mondays until further notice. Golf News Women’s Golf News Washington Yacht Club Special Notes Start the New Year off right!!!
