About Us
KOA Franchisee of the Year
The Kampgrounds of America Franchisee of the Year is the highest honor in the KOA system. Receiving this award is
a public acknowledgment of what your peers and others in the camping business already know – you are the best of
the best. You are THE ELITE campground on the North American continent.
Once you’ve received this award, you are also part of a very exclusive club. I think it’s important that we remind ourselves just what it takes to earn a Franchisee of the Year Award. It isn’t easy. It isn’t supposed to be.
The selection criteria for the Franchisee of the Year Award are extensive. Each year, a deserving KOA franchisee is selected to

ARVC Medium Size Park of the Year 2014
The Shelby/Mansfield KOA Resort was named “Park of the Year for 2014” by the National
Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (ARVC). This is he highest award given by ARVC
and it is judged on: National directory ratings, Operations excellence, Community service,
Association involvement, Park promotions, Management skills, Education and Employee training
techniques. Over 3400 parks are members of ARVC. This is the fourth time that the campground
has received this award and it is just as exciting as the other times.

Kampgrounds of America, Inc also honored Shelby/Mansfield KOA Resort with the Founder’s Award for their outstanding
camper guest service. The KOA Founder’s Award relies on feedback from you, our campers, at the KOA Kampground.
The Founder’s Award is presented to a KOA Kampground owner based on their high level of customer service and for their
ability to meet their camping guest’s expectations. This award relies solely on feedback from campers through annual surveys
to measure guest’s experience while staying at their campground. To achieve a Founder’s award, the campground must score
high in all areas of customer service, campground facilities, cleanliness and overall value.

For the past several years, Garry & Vicki Cole, CPO’s have achieved the prestigious President’s Award. This award is given to
KOA Kampgrounds that received exceptional scores on their quality assurance facilities review, for being a positive part of the
KOA system, and for receiving high scores on their camper survey.

who nominated us: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a new franchisee get so involved in our system and be so influential with both our

DELUXE CABINS
Experience the other side of camping in one of our rustic Deluxe Cabins. It’s like
“roughing it” in a vacation home. Spacious and complete, these units offer up to
400 square feet of living space and sleep from 4 up to 10 people. Some feature
a separate bedroom with a full-size cedar log bed, a bathroom with sink, shower
and toilet, a full service kitchen that includes a sink, cook-top range, microwave
and refrigerator, a dining area with cedar dinette table and four chairs, and a
living area that includes a cedar log futon. Others feature more conventional
facilities. Linens, television, and propane grill are included for all units. All have
air conditioning and heat - this is “upscale” camping!

Buckeye and Capital layout
Our newest Deluxe Cabins have different layouts. They are the Bass, Catfish,
Wolverine, Spartan, Hoosier, Nittany Lion, and California. These cabins
have a loft with two double mattresses, a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom
with sink, shower and toilet, a full service kitchen that includes a sink, stove,
microwave and refrigerator, a dining area with a cedar dinette table and four
chairs, and a living area that includes a cedar log futon. With nearly 400 square
feet of living space, they sleep up to 8 people. Top it off with central air and heat
– and this is “great” camping! These cabins are located close together making
it convenient for family reunions. Linens, television, and propane grill included.
We also have cabins—Cottage, Cozy, Bunkhouse, Log, and Western—
which can sleep anywhere from 4 to 10 people. They have a bathroom with sink,
shower and toilet, a full service kitchen that includes a sink, stove, microwave and
refrigerator. Linens, television, and propane grill included.

Advance reservations are suggested. A reservation guarantees a site, but not a specific site. We will try to
accommodate site requests when possible. A credit card deposit equal to the registration charges for your first

Cancellation Requirements and Deposit Refunds
If you are unable to honor your reservation, you must call and cancel prior to
the following deadlines:
RV/Tent: 48 Hours - To cancel your RV/tent reservation; call us by 4 p.m.,
at least two days prior to your scheduled arrival date.
Camping Cabin: 7 Days - To cancel your Cabin reservation; call us by
4:00 p.m., at least one week (7 days) prior to your scheduled arrival date.
Cancel before 7 days and you will forfeit $10.00, with in the last week you will
forfeit the entire deposit.
Deluxe Cabins: 1 Month - To cancel your Cottage reservation, call us by 4:00 p.m. at least 1 month prior to
your scheduled arrival date. Reservations made after these deadlines, will require a non-refundable deposit.
Cancel before 1 month you will forfeit $25.00, with in the month you will forfeit the entire deposit.
Cancellation Charges
A $10 cancellation fee will be charged for each reservation that is cancelled prior to deadline for campsites and
Camping Cabins. A $25.00 cancellation fee will be charged for each reservation that is cancelled prior to 4 weeks for
Deluxe Cabins. Cancellations after deadline will result in forfeiture of deposit. There are no refunds for
Holiday Weekends or Sept. 24th-27th, Oct 2nd-4th, and Oct. 8th-10th Weekends.
Reservations normally require a 2 night minimum stay. On Holidays a 3 night minimum stay is required.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT
Check-in for campsites and Cabins is 4PM. Check-Out time for all campsites is 2 PM.
Cabins and Deluxe Cabins is 12 noon. Payment of all camping fees is due at check-in.
VISITORS ($5.00 per person)
A visitor is defined as any person other than the registered camper. They may visit you for the day, and their
arrival needs to be after 10:00 am. Your visitors must be registered and paid for before they enter the campground, and
are not allowed to enter the campground after the store closes. Please let them know that their pets are not allowed on
the grounds.
Seasonal Camping
Seasonal campsites at the Shelby/Mansfield KOA Resort cover the use of a particular site, in a
separate section, for the entire season, May 1st to Oct 15th. During that time, the site is essentially
yours and you may leave your RV on the site, or come and go as you wish.
Seasonal sites appeal to campers for many different reasons, especially in
this time of higher fuel costs. The convenience of a seasonal site is terrific!!
Patio Sites
Our Premium Patio Sites are furnished with a large concrete pad or wood deck and
polywood patio furniture, swing, propane grill, and ambiance grill. These large, premium
sites are our most popular sites, so book early.

destination. Our property offers your group a facility for small to large, private functions
with our focus on your group’s needs. It is time to think outside of the box, and provide
your employees with a uniqueness that will be positively remembered long after their
departure. We have the ability to cater your meals with a variety of options or we are
open to your menu. We also offer swimming pools, basketball, Mini-golf, Sand Volleyball,
Jumping Pillow, Horseshoes, OR we can schedule recreational, or team building activities

KAFE Our delicious pizzas are baked fresh daily. Burgers, hot dogs,
and a variety of sandwiches and finger foods are always available in
addition to shakes, banana splits, and slushes. Breakfast is served any
time of the day. Don’t miss our new Lil-Orbits Mini Donuts. They are
to die for.
GENERAL STORE
The Shelby/Mansfield KOA Resort Store
carries a complete line of grocery and household items, in addition
to a well-stocked R.V. parts and accessories department. You will
find a wide selection of gifts, jewelry, and a large assortment of
clothing. Pay for your propane at the store.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
Self-service laundry facilities
are located adjacent to the General Store and beside the Game
Room. Change is available in the store.
ATM MACHINE
There is an ATM machine conveniently
located inside our General Store.
The Kamp Store
Amenities
offers a full line of grocery items, RV
supplies and unique gifts, including crafts, groceries, knick
knacks and toys for children of all ages. The KOA Kafe serves
meals from breakfast through dinner, fresh pizza, hard dipped
ice cream, soft serve ice cream, frozen coffee, smoothies
and slushes—all of this right inside the campground! Try our
Lil’ Orbit Mini Donut machine.
Restrooms
When it’s time for a shower, use our
highly-rated restrooms. Trailer Life has rated them a 10*,
their highest rating! We also have family restroom and
handicapped accessible restrooms, which provide security,
comfort and convenience.
Campsites
Our 85’ long by 45’ wide pull-thru sites
will accommodate the largest of motor homes, 5th wheels
and combinations of trailed vehicles. Full hook-ups are
available that include cableTV and 20/30/50 amp electric. The
beautiful stamped-design concrete premium patio sites have
comfortable polywood patio furniture, convenient propane
grills and restful swings.
Pool
Heated pools and hot tub provide fun-filled, full-time
enjoyment. The pool area is open everyday from 9 a.m. to
9 p.m. Adult swim times, normally on the weekends, are
provided for the pool and hot tub, and only adults 18 years
and over are allowed in the pool area. We require that all
children under 14 be accompanied by an adult if they are in
the pool area. You need to be at least 14 years of age to be in
the hot tub. The pool and hot tub are open Memorial Day –
Labor Day.

available and allows you to use your wireless-equipped
laptop computer and/or smart phones to connect to the
internet when you are on the move. One free continuous
connection per campsite.
Our reservation system
allows you to make
real-time reservations online, receive confirmations through
email, and buy or renew your Value Kard. Just visit our
website, www.shelbymansfieldkoa.com, to quickly
and securely make your reservation. The reservation
will allow you to choose your type of site and supply
any pertinent information that you have. Requests are
processed immediately, so that you will be able to have your
reservation in your hand immediately!! Your confirmation
will be done via email. You can make a reservation anytime,
and is available all year long. Also, we take reservations one
year in advance of your arrival.
Cable TV
is available at the new, large drive-thru
sites. A01 – H04. This will allow you to watch cable by
simply hooking up your TV to our system. Cable TV is
also available in all of our cabins, Kafe, and restrooms.

The first race is to make your reservation…

reservation for this weekend. From 8:30 am
to 9:00 am, the base rate is $20.00/night base rate for 2
people if you have a KOA Value Kard. (Does not include

Meet Amy Reese
A smiling face at our front desk greeting customers, answering questions,
making your stay as memorable as possible is our Manager, Amy Reese.
Amy has worked for the campgrounds for over 15 years. Besides working at
the Shelby/Mansfield KOA Resort, Amy can be found teaching third grade at
Buckeye Central School District. She has two sons, Jason and Josh.

upgrade from the video game experience? Looking for a family party? Try
the sport that brings families and friends together.
Outdoor laser tag is a new, unique sport, which brings excitement and
enjoyment to a wide range of customers.
Outdoor laser tag is simple. Each player has a laser tag gun and sensors.
Each player tries to hit his opponent by shooting his gun at the opponents
sensors. Sound simple? Well, it can stay that simple if you desire,
especially for the younger kids.
But like any sport, one player always becomes better than the others.
Soon everyone else is trying to learn new tactics to keep up, and surpass.
Tactics give rise to strategies, and pretty soon you have a real sport.

Swimming Pools
OPEN Memorial Day Weekend
through Labor Day (Conditions permitting)
Shelby/Mansfield has a large heated pool and a wading pool. The
hot tub is for 18 and older. Children under 14 must be accompanied
by an adult. Swim diapers must be worn by small children. To
ensure the safety of all our guests, we ask that you follow our pool
regulations. We do not allow alcohol or smoking in the pool area,
and no diving is allowed.
Our pools are not staffed with lifeguards. Swim at your own risk.
Other pool regulations are posted in the pool area.

Folks of all ages agree that the NEW Wagon Wheel
Gem Mine is loads of fun! Whether you purchase a
bag or a sack you are sure to find a variety of gem
stones. Our gem rough material includes gems like
sapphire, amethyst, moonstone, emerald, garnet
and more. If you choose a bag you may also find
items like fossils, shark teeth, polished gem stones,
and arrowheads. Bags are great for families or
groups to share. The mining sluice is open to the
public from April 24 to October 15th daily.

No matter what kind of RV camping you do—in a motorhome, travel trailer, 5th wheel
or cabin—chances are you love to travel and love to eat. Join us as we share with you
our recipes for Dutch Oven Cooking. We’ve got plenty of recipes to try so settle in and

Deck. Watch the beautiful sunsets across recreational lake with the fountian spray creating a beautiful setting for

An added feature is rental of electric golf carts for our camping guests. They can be rented for
4 or 8 hours, and reservations are suggested. Note that they are for use by licensed drivers 21
years of age and over, and please drive them with the same courtesy as you would any other
vehicle on the grounds. There is a limited number of golf carts available for rent so book early.
A deposit is required at the time of booking.
We do allow you to bring your personal golf cart with the following provisions. All drivers
must be 18 years of age or older, and have a valid driver’s license on file in the store. Charge is
$5.00 per day for your own personal golf cart. Proof of liability insurance must be turned into
our office before using your golf cart at the Shelby/Mansfield KOA Resort. Visitors cannot drive
golf carts at any time.

at Shelby/Mansfield KOA Resort
Be considerate of fellow campers.
Ride bicycles ONLY during daylight hours.
One camping unit per site is allowed. Camping tents are
not allowed on RV or cabin sites.
Campsites are assigned. Do not set up on any site or
move to another site without first checking with the
office. Please walk or drive around any campsites other
than your own, whether it is occupied or not.
The registered camper is responsible for the behavior of
all persons occupying or visiting their site. After 10 pm
all children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent
or guardian when off their site.
Quiet hours are from 11 pm to 8 am.

Trash: All trash must be wrapped in plastic bags and put

in front of your campsite. We will pickup between 9:00
a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Please don’t leave trash out after our
last pickup.
Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages are allowed on your
campsite only; no intoxication or rowdiness is tolerated.
Fitness Center: Children under 14 are not allowed in
the fitness center. Children 14-17 must have a parent
present in the fitness center.
Swimming Pool: Children under 14 must be
accompanied by an adult. Swimmers in the swimming
pool must wear swimsuits designed as swimwear, no
street type clothes. Babies must wear swim diapers
with rubber pants. No life guards are on duty. Swim at
your own risk.
Lakes: Lakes are off limits after dusk and before dawn.
Fishing: All fishing is on a catch-and-release program
and only in the fishing lake. Children under 10 must be
accompanied by an adult around all ponds. Fishing is for
registered campers and paid visitors only.
Fireworks and Firearms: All use of firearms, bow and
arrows, or other weapons on the premises is strictly
prohibited. No firearms are permitted on the property.
No fireworks are permitted to be set off on the property.
If your dog shows behavior that is protective and
unfriendly to strangers, please leave it home. If you
decide to bring your dog and it exhibits this type of
behavior the owner or management will ask you to
please find other camping accommodations. All pets
must be registered at office; there isn’t any charge
except for cabins. Please keep pets quiet. If you leave
your site, your pet must be put in your trailer or a kennel.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

burned only in a fire ring. Fire rings are not be moved

Entrance to the campground constitutes permission
for the management of Shelby/Mansfield KOA to
photograph anyone while on the premises, and to
use any resulting pictures for any lawful purpose
without compensation to the individual.
Pets: Aggressive dogs of any breed are not welcome.
