Important Information
 Take/Re-take the SAT or ACT as soon as possible.
 Create an Activity Sheet and give a copy to your School Counselor.
 Apply Early! Many Colleges have application deadlines of mid October and November 1st for early notification. Some
schools require you to complete the application by the early deadline to be eligible for scholarships.
 Request recommendations from teachers if necessary, giving them as much notice as possible. Also give them a copy of
your Activity Sheet and the Brag Sheet.
 Check each College’s website for admissions and scholarship/financial aid information.
 Send your transcript electronically through www.cfnc.org.
 Get prior approval before any College visit.

Air Force ROTC Discipline: Engineering, Architecture, Computers, Math, Meteorology, Physics, Nursing, Foreign Language (Central Europe,
Russian, Middle east, and Asian); various scholarships available Award: Up to Full scholarships Requirements: To be eligible for scholarship
consideration must receive an SAT composite of 1180 (Math and Verbal portion only) or ACT composite of 26 (Writing Test is not included). 3.0
GPA or higher at end of 11th grade. Only 9th through 11th grades are considered. Deadline: December 1, 2014 is the last day to apply. Note:
the online application must be completed before forms. January 12, 2015 is the final day to submit all required

entering freshmen who are US Citizens or legal permanent residents. Award: Dollar amounts vary based on the current year's applicant pool and

Navy-Marine Corps and Air Force Scholarships cover tuition, academic fees and most books. Requirements: SAT or ACT scores,
recommendations, extracurricular activities, leadership, interview, acceptance and attendance at a college or university offering ROTC program,
physical condition. Deadline: Complete Application by December 1 each year. Take SAT or ACT no later than October of Senior year, preferably in June of Junior year. Apply before Oct. 31 for best opportunity to win this scholarship. ROTC Scholarships: Army Discipline: General with military obligation following college graduation Award: Army scholarships cover most tuition
and on-campus educational expenses and provide a flat rate for books, supplies and equipment. $100.00 a month allowance. Requirements: Be a
U.S. citizen; be between the ages of 17 and 26; have a high school cum. GPA of at least 2.50; have a high school diploma or equivalent; score
minimum of 920 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required writing test scores); meet physical standards; agree to accept a
commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard). The most
competitive candidates for an Army ROTC Four-Year Scholarship will have at least an SAT score of 1100 or an ACT score of
24. Deadline: Recommended Apply by December 1 each year. Final Deadline January 10. All updates must be postmarked by Feb. 28.

Wake Forest University Merit Based Scholarships Discipline: General Award: Each year Wake Forest awards merit-based scholarships to less
than 3% of its first year applicants; the recipients will benefit greatly from a Wake Forest education even as they contribute significantly to the
intellectual and civic life of the campus. These scholarships, among the highest honors given to Wake Forest students, are renewable through four
years, subject to satisfactory academic, extracurricular, and civic performance. Most scholarships (including the Reynolds, Carswell, Stamps, and
Gordon scholarships) do not require a separate merit-based scholarship application. Instead, students need only submit a complete application
for undergraduate admissions by December 1. Although an interview is not required in order to be considered for a merit-based scholarships,
87% of our scholarship recipients had completed the interview process as part of the application to Wake Forest. Finalists for scholarships that

Washington & Lee University: The Johnson Scholarship Program Discipline: Merit-based and leadership Award: Award consists of full tuition
and fees, standard room and board for four years. Requirements: From the pool of Johnson applicants, finalists will be selected on the basis of
academic achievement and demonstrated leadership. Writing samples, teacher recommendations, and records of leadership, citizenship, and
involvement in non-academic activities will be weighed. Finalists will be judged on their potential to contribute to the intellectual and civic life of the
W & L campus and of the world at large in years to come. Deadline: To be considered for the Johnson Scholarship, students should apply

Elk's National Foundation "Most Valuable Student" Scholarship Awards Discipline: General, must pursue a 4-year degree on a full time basis
in a USA college/university Award: 500 four-year scholarships ranging from $4,000 - $50,000. The 20 top finalists will participate in a Leadership
Weekend in Chicago during which they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000;
two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480
runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000.Elks National Foundation will notify the 500 national finalists by email by late April
