Dinner will be served around 11:45 AM. Following the meal, we will ready the nave for our celebration of Christmas through an informal worship and singing of Christmas carols – yes, CHRISTMAS CAROLS! - as we Hang The Greens. If you have never been a part of this tradition at St. David’s, we would really enjoy having you with us this year. St David’s will be participating in the “ELCA Malaria Christmas Challenge". ALL proceeds from Christmas Eve services placed in the "Blessing Offering Plates" at the front of the pews on both sides will be donated to this campaign. These gifts will be used in Africa so that families will receive the gift of sleeping safely, training on malaria prevention, and providing villages with healthcare providers and medication. Council is asking that $1.00 per person attending the Christmas Eve services be donated. This gift allows us to “give the gift of life “. If pastoral care is needed after office hours, call: Pastor Van Dyke: (814-322-6933). We Need Your Help! When someone goes to the hospital or is in need of pastoral care, please don’t assume that the Pastor or church office automatically know about it. In many situations our local hospitals do not call us to inform us of a person from St. David’s Lutheran being hospitalized. In a similar way, if you read something of concern in the newspaper (the death of a relative of a member) call us 479-4110. We rather hear about it too many times than not at all. As of December 14, we have received a count of 8,889 for the 25,000 Can Challenge! THANK YOU!!! Volunteers are needed to schedule usher & communion assistant volunteers for the Sunday services. The schedules are done 4 times a year. If you would be willing to help out please contact Jessica at 479-4110 or you can e-mail her at [email protected].
