Welcome to St. Helena Church
Our Church is a center for spiritual growth, where
positive attitudes are developed, where good people
become better, where hurts are healed, where lessons are
learned, where friendships are developed, where marriages
restless find peace, where love is alive, where God is
understood, where the Holy Spirit leads, and where Jesus
Christ is Lord. Together, let us spread the message of the
Gospel to our neighbors.

Y hoy volvemos a nacer nosotros. Demos gracias a
Dios por el Nacimiento de JESUS. Que El llene nuestros corazones de Paz, Esperanza y Amor. FELICES
PASCUAS DE NAVIDAD!
General Intercessions
In the prayers of intercession we ask God for the needs of the Church; for
public authorities and the salvation of the world; for those oppressed by any need;
and for the local community. Typically the intentions are announced in the lectern
but introduced by the priest. Also called the Prayer of the Faithful, at one stage in
the evolution of the Catholic Mass, the marked the beginning of the "Mass of the
Faithful". This was the secret ceremony that only baptized Catholics of good
standing could attend. Strangers, catechumens and penitents were expected to
leave at this point.
We are happy to offer you a copy of the 90th Anniversary Mass on DVD.
Cost is $10.00 per DVD. If you wish a copy, please fill out this slip and
give to Sr. Sophie with the money or drop off at the rectory Attention: Sr.

God and Father of us all, in Jesus, your Son and our Savior, you have made us your sons
and daughters in the family of the Church. May your grace and love help our families in every
part of the world be united to one another in fidelity to the Gospel. May the example of the
Holy Family, with the aid of your Holy Spirit, guide all families, especially those most
troubled, to be homes of communion and prayer and to always seek your truth and live in your
love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us!

048 St. Helena – Rt. P
St. Helena Parish is a Tithing Parish since Jan. 19, 2003. God has provided for us in
wonderful ways and we are committed to "making a return to the Lord for all His goodness to us."
All we are and have is due to God’s goodness.
Stewardship Report
Due to Early Transmission,
the Financial Report will be posted
in the next bulletin.
There will be an important parent meeting on WEDNESDAY, January 14th for
parents of children making First Penance on February 24, 2015 at 7:00PM.
One parent MUST ATTEND these meetings. The Meeting will take place in
the Rectory Basement. (enter door next to driveway on Godfrey Avenue.)
Today we celebrate the 4th Sunday of Advent. In today’s gospel (Luke 1:26-38), a divine
messenger (Gabriel) brings Mary the awesome news of the forthcoming Incarnation of the Messiah,
and we hear the Blessed Virgin Mary’s assent. Mary’s response to God can lead us in many
directions, but today let’s focus on just two points. The context, of course, is Mary’s humble
submission of her will to God’s will in all things, and the fact that the “birthing process” began at
that very moment of her “Yes.” t is Mary’s heart that is being modeled for us today. She clearly had
a humble heart, trusting totally in God. She also clearly had a prayer life that kept her tuned in to
God’s will at all times. So when the “invitation” came to become the mother of Jesus, by the power
of the Holy Spirit, there was only one trusting answer for her to give: “May it be done to me
according to your word.”
I would like to thank all those who attended our Advent Penance Service last Saturday.
Just a reminder that we will meet Monday evening, December 22nd at 7:00 pm to decorate
the Upper Church. All are invited to join us.
I invite you and your family to participate in fully our Christmas Masses. Merry Christmas
on behalf of myself, Father Pelczar, Father Concha, Father Gardy, Sister Sophie, Sr. Anna Marie,
Deacon Seda, Deacon Isley, Deacon Huan, Deacon Urmson, the Sisters of St. Joseph & Sisters of
Mercy and the Staff of St. Helena Church, we hope you all have a Blessed and peaceful
Christmas. My Christmas Wish for all is that His Blessed Birth will fill your hearts with peace, joy
and love. May the feelings of Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward all remain with us throughout
the New Year! Thanks for reading and have a good week!
Your Brother & Shepherd,
Rev. Msgr. Joseph Trinh
