We welcome all who worship with us today. Visitors are invited to sign
the guest register in the Lobby. People at the Information Desk would like a
chance to welcome guests. If you are interested in membership, please talk
with one of our Pastors or Jane Elliott, AIM.
Today’s flowers are given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of
Beverly Tucker by her children, grandchildren and husband; by Robbyn Velasco
in loving memory of Melissa and Montana Twining and David Jenkins; by Jane
Warmkessel in loving memory of her parents, Marguerite and Harold Herbst,
and daughter, Sharon Wieder Nicolaisen.
Children aren't just welcome, they are embraced. We know kids are in
worship and make noise. The psalmist David said, “make a joyful noise to the
Lord!” It’s great to hear all people respond during worship. If your child should
need a break, there is child care available in room 110. Parents are always
welcome to stay with their children there. Parents must sign children in and
out of nursery care.
Clipboards and Bible bags are available for children’s use during worship
and can be found at the main entrance to the worship area.
Members and guests are invited to sign the Friendship Register, pass it down
the row for other worshippers to sign, and introduce yourself to those
worshipping around you.
Let your friends know about Holy Spirit by tweeting, checking in, Instagraming, etc. that you are here. Our congregation's hashtag is #LCHolySpirit.
While you are on your phone or tablet, please make sure it is on silent so
you do not disrupt our worship time together.

Prayer cards are available at the Information Desk should you need to
request special prayer. Completed prayer cards may be given to a pastor for
inclusion in the morning prayers. During the week, please notify the church
office if you or a member of your family is hospitalized.
SUNDAY MORNING FAITH FORMATION, 9:45am
This Week: Carols and Cookies, Sharon MacCabe and Jane Elliott,
AIM: Bring along the name of your favorite Christmas carol and share what it
means to you. We’ll sing a verse or two and enjoy the refreshments.
FELLOWSHIP & HOSPITALITY...in Room 117/119. Meet and greet sisters and brothers in Christ. Take time to relax and connect with your church
family. All are welcome.
Faith Formation for Children and Youth (age 3–fifth grade)
The Legend of the Christmas Tree
Next Week: No Center for Faith and Life. See you on January 4th.
SHELTER FOR THE SAVIOR: This project is one way our congregation
helps to support Plaster House in Tanzania. Plaster House shelters and provides services for children preparing for and recovering from reconstructive
surgery. To participate, pick up a packet at the designated Christmas tree in
the narthex and follow the directions. The suggested donation is $12, $1 for
each of the 12 days of Christmas.
SENIOR GROUP ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST will be held
Wednesday, December 31st at 9am in the MPR. Mark your calendar to attend
this special event!
EPIPHANY PARTY: All children, youth and their parents are invited to join
us for an Epiphany Party on Sunday, January 4 at 9:45 am in the MPR. Enjoy
Epiphany themed snacks and crafts as we celebrate carrying the light of Christ
into the New Year.
COLLEGE STUDENT MISSION PANEL, Sunday, Jan. 4th: Holy Spirit members and college students Amber Coe and Johnny Guignet, III share with
us the volunteer work they have been involved in both at Holy Spirit and in the
community. Amber created a mission opportunity while at West Chester University and worked with Rejoicing Spirits ministry here at home. Johnny did
student teaching in Cape Town, South Africa and recently graduated from Millersville University. This session will be held in the worship center.
FOR WORSHIP JAN. 4TH, when we will celebrate the Epiphany of Our
Lord, we are asking one family for 8:45 and one family for 10:45 am worship to
volunteer to be our 21st century kings who bring our offering, bread and
wine forward in honor of the Christ child. Please signup on the Event Signup
Center or contact Jane Elliott, AIM.
ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 4 at 8:45 am Epiphany worship, our children
will bring to life the Christmas/Epiphany story as Pr. Ric reads the gospel reading for Epiphany.

IN OBSERVANCE OF THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY, the church office
will close at noon on Dec. 24th and reopen Monday, December 29th.
END OF YEAR OFFERINGS: To insure that your donations are included in
church year 2014, they will need to be made either in the last Sunday offering
on December 28th, or personally brought in to the church office no later than
Tuesday, December 30th at noon. Please do not rely on the US Mail or
postmarks to determine your year of contribution. Because our church
accounting is on a cash basis, donations must be in hand and deposited in our
bank by the date and time above in order to be counted for 2014.
THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, we thank all who have supported Holy Spirit
this past year with their time, talent and financial contributions. We look
forward to support from all of our members in the year ahead. If you have not
yet submitted your Estimate of Giving for 2015, please do so. Thank you for
your support.

(and their siblings). Doors will open at 4:45pm. The snow date is Jan. 14th.

message will be updated to reflect any change in the worship schedule. If there
is a heavy snowstorm and roads are passable, there will be one service at 10:45
a.m. The church office will follow the same schedule as the East Penn School
District.
November 2014 Financial Results and Discussion:
Operating Performance: November was a good month for us in the
sense that we were able to make up some lost ground on pledge
donations and at the same time save on some expenses.
We projected to have a deficit of $5,654 and we had a surplus of $9,997,
a $15,700 swing. Revenues were $73,732 and expenses were $63,735.
Overall revenue was ahead of budget by almost $10,900 and expenses
were down $4,800 to budget. Revenue was up mainly due to year to
date catchup on pledges, including over $4,000 paid ahead for December.
Expenses were down to budget in resources for administration ($2,200),
and faith formation mission areas ($1,800).
Year to date: Revenues are $769,332 and expenses are $753,166, giving
us a surplus of $16,166 through November.
Capital Campaign Line of Credit: The balance in the line of credit is
now $165,000, after a $75,000 draw to cover the fifth invoice from
Serfass Construction and the final invoice from the architect. There is
still approximately $7,700 in outstanding charges from Serfass that will be
billed and paid in December.
Available Capital Campaign: Taking into account November project
expenses and the draw on our line of credit, the balance in the account at
the end of November netted out to $46,812. We will need our capital
pledge contributions to stay current or even paid ahead so that we can
begin to start paying down on the line of credit balance as soon as
possible.
HOLY SPIRIT’S GIVING KIOSK is in the Lobby. If you would like to do
your giving or make a donation via a credit/debit card please feel free to use
the kiosk in the Lobby. The kiosk is set up to receive credit/debit card
payments e.g. Lord’s Day Layaway, Nursery School. If you register thereafter
you will be able to log in using your phone number. Your giving will be
recorded and a receipt sent to your e-mail address. You may also make an
anonymous donation. Instructions for using the kiosk may be found at the
kiosk. For additional information contact Bob Schuchart, Lorie Stout
Sherman, or Pam Harshey. Thank you for giving!
