Info & Rates Kilcairn is a farm wedding venue situated between Wellington & Gouda on the R44, just outside the small railway station town of Hermon. Bordering on the Berg River and surrounded by vineyards, orchards and wheat fields, Kilcairn boasts beautiful scenery with an old-country, rustic feel. Kilcairn can accommodate up to 120 guests with a dance floor. Our lovely gardens are perfect for ceremonies, but for those who prefer an indoor ceremony the side hall adjacent to the reception hall can be converted into a small chapel. Venue Hire for Dec 2013 – Dec 2014 Winter (Jun – Aug) Summer (Sep – May) Weekdays (Mon – Thu) R9 000 R11 500 Weekends / Public Holidays R11 000 R14 500 This includes: • Use of the full venue for reception & ceremony: Main hall, side hall, courtyard & gardens. • Rectangular tables, plastic chairs, table cloths (white), chair covers (white), napkins (white), crockery, cutlery, glassware. • Setup of tables & chairs according to a table layout agreed upon. • Clean-up before and after. This does not include seating or other furniture or structures (arches, gazebos, etc.) for the ceremony. • Reception chairs are available to use at the ceremony site, but it will be the client’s responsibility to have the chairs moved from the ceremony site to the reception site. • Extra seating can be rented at extra cost from us or our vendors in the form of hay bales (with or without covers), plastic chairs (with or without covers), or Wimbledon chairs. Info & Rates Kilcairn provides a fully stocked bar with 2 bartenders included in the venue hire price. The bar closes at midnight, and an extra fee of R500 is charged for every extra hour exceeding that time. No outside liquor, apart from wine and champagne, is allowed to be brought in. We do not charge corkage for champagne (for toasting purposes) and only R15 per opened bottle of wine. We have a list of Riebeek Valley produced wines, ranging between R40 and R120, which we can provide for your wedding. You can pre-order bottles for the tables, or we can have the wine available at the bar. The venue is available until 01:00 on the evening of the function after which a fee of R1500/hour is charged. Catering is charged extra. Our catering is done by Heinrich and Benitha Nel from Two Food Fundies. They prepare mouth-watering food and canapés, and they can also prepare a candy table for you which ties in with your colour scheme, as well as dessert bars and loads of other goodies. Unfortunately we do not allow outside catering. Please note: You are welcome to make a tentative booking with us for a specific date, but that booking will only be valid for 14 days. Within those 14 days you will have first option in case another party wants to book that same date, but after 14 days the date will become available to the public again.
