Live In Care Today WINTER 2014 The Live-in Care Team Season Greetings This newsletter is a fantastic opportunity to introduce myself and the new LICS Central Team. I am Martina Goble, the new Registered Manager for the Live in Care Service. My experience in the Care Sector over the past 15 years stretches from management of Care Homes, Nursing and Dementia, as well as Mental Health Homes to Learning Disabilities and Domiciliary Care Agencies. I am passionate about quality care and know what difference person centred, well developed and planned care provision by caring, well trained Care Workers can make to people’s lives. The Central Team is just one phone call away and we are here to ensure that you receive the support and guidance you need. May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Jane Charles Deputy Manager Before starting Agincare in August 2014 I had an 18 year nursing history having qualified as a Registered General Nurse and Registered Mental Nurse. Following this I worked in Sheltered Housing, Extra Care Housing and Domiciliary Care before starting at Agincare in this new exciting role in August. Out of work I enjoy travelling around the UK and Europe, with or without my caravan, preferably stopping at small sites around the country. I have started playing skittles for a local ladies team but feel I have not reached my peak yet so will continue to practise. I look forward to working with everyone in the future and please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns. Natalie Duncan I’m your first port of call when you call into the office. Prior to Agincare I was involved with a variety of businesses ranging from the security industry to the leisure & tourism industry. Live-in Care Specialists Live In Care Today WINTER 2014 Dignity in Care.... The Dignity in Care campaign was launched in November 2006 and is hosted by the Social Care Institute for Excellence and aims to put dignity and respect at the heart of UK care services. The campaign has over 40,000 registered Dignity Champions - be they individuals or care organisations. They are part of a nationwide movement, working individually and collectively, to ensure people have a good experience of care when they need it. They include councillors, staff at all levels in NHS and social care, volunteers, service users, their carers and members of the public. The Dignity in Care campaign is led by the National Dignity Council, who work together to raise the profile of the network and to place greater emphasis on promoting the work the Dignity Champions do to improve standards of care for people who use services. The campaign's core values are about having dignity in our hearts, minds and actions, changing the culture of care services and placing a greater emphasis on improving the quality of care and the experience of citizens using services including NHS hospitals, community services, care homes and home support services. Here at Agincare we will be celebrating Dignity in Care day on 1st February 2015. To help us celebrate we value your opinions and what dignity in care means to you.
