Thank You’s!
Dear Pastor and Congregation,
Thank you so much for the 147 pounds of
food donated for Thanksgiving. We certainly do
appreciate this donation and many families will be
blessed by your giving. As we approach this
Thanksgiving season we are seeing many families
that are in need of assistance and donations such as
this are so greatly appreciated. May God bless each
of you for all you do throughout the year to help
make a difference in our community by helping
those that are in need.
Sincerely,
Sandy Harris, President PCCS
Dear Burgaw UMC,
Thank you for making Christmas for my
family this year. When the school counselor called
and told me that Christmas packages had arrived for
my children from your church, I just cried. Without
you we would not have had Christmas. Thank you!
Thank you! Thank you!
Dear Burgaw UMC,
Thank you so much for the food while I was
recuperating from knee surgery, and the wonderful
Christmas gift. Words cannot express how special
y’all are to me. I look forward to us growing in Christ
over the coming years, and introducing Jesus to
people in our community who do not know him.
God bless you.
Pastor Ellen
Love Feast
We start off the New Year with a Love Feast
on January 4th at the 11am service. The Love Feast
seeks to strengthen the bonds and the spirit of
harmony, and goodwill, as well as to forgive past
disputes and instead love one another. We will enjoy
sweet rolls and sweet coffee, as we sing hymns,
listen to scripture, and share where we have seen
God at work in our life this past year, and where we
hope to grow in Christ this coming year. We will end
by renewing our covenant with God through the use
of John Wesley’s covenant prayer. This is always a
very meaningful service. Come, bring your friends
and family, and let us celebrate our life together!
Brian is coming!!! Brian is coming!!!
On Sunday January 11th at the 11am service,
we welcome Rev. Brian Wellborn, the lead pastor
and church Planter at The Well. As we have gotten
to know each other over the past 6 months, many of
you have expressed interest in learning more about
“church plants.” I have known Brian Wellborn since
2008, and he is one of the most gifted, spiritual,
discerning young pastors I have ever met. He
inspires me every time I hear him speak and share
his heart. I look forward to introducing him to you,
and hearing him share with you how a church plant
happens, and the current status of The Well. Less
than 18% of Americans attend church on any given
weekend. Yet, church plants grow 3 times faster
than existing churches and account for the majority
of new conversions. This will be a wonderful time to
praise God for the new believers at The Well, and
learn how we can help them.
