California State Summer School for the Arts is
accepting applications for admission to their 2015 summer
session held from July 11 to August 7, 2015. CSSSA is the
only state-supported arts summer school on the West
coast. This immersive four-week residential program
offers seven artistic disciplines to choose from, including:
Animation, Creative Writing, Dance, Film & Video,
Music, Theater and Visual Arts. Held on the campus of
the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Valencia,
approximately 500 students each year attend from around
the world. All students are selected by their submission of
an application and work sample that is reviewed by a panel
of educators and professional artists.
Applications are available at csssa.ca.gov and are due on
February 28, 2015.
Hospice of Santa Barbara – invites regional artists,
either individuals or group, to submit their hanging works
for consideration for the Leigh Block Gallery at Hospice
of Santa Barbara. Art that explores grief and loss as well
as the deeper aspects of life’s journey is desired. Artists/
groups interested in submitting must send a cover letter
and a disk containing images or proposed work and a
current resume. Deadline for submission is January 30th,
2015 by 4:30pm. Please mail all submissions to Art at HSB,
