Please call us to sign up for classes and groups as soon as possible to save your place and to ensure
that classes fill so they will be held. All classes and groups MUST meet the minimum number of participants to be finalized. Please call 301-695-7199 for class registration and information.
If you cancel your attendance in a class less than a week before the class, your payment will NOT be
refunded. Please remember that minimum numbers are set to ensure covering the costs of teaching
and preparation.
All class fees must be paid in advance of class (except for evening Open Sew). You may pay by mailing a check, or by using the Send Money option on Paypal. Due to the nature of our classes, we like
to speak with participants before you sign up to ensure that you are choosing the right class for your
skill level. This is why we do not offer an online registration option.
Beginning Piecing: 2 Sessions: 1st and 2nd Wednesdays /3rd and 4th Sundays in Jan & Feb. 1-4 pm
and a 5th session in March. Want to quilt? This is your first step! Our beginning piecing class has 5 sessions. In
the process of making a 4-block sampler, you’ll learn all the basics: rotary cutting, pressing and construction techniques including basic straight line machine quilting and binding, that will take you on to more projects. Max. of 6
students. $125 plus fabric and tools. Machine needed with quarter-inch presser foot. Please call us for a supply list
and more detailed information on getting started. Supply list.
60 Degree Table Runner: Sat, Jan 17; 10-4. $20 plus pattern, 60 degree triangle ruler from Creative Grids, fabric and sewing machine. Turn border stripes into beautiful runners in no time at all! If you want to quilt and bind
your runner in class, you’ll need Thermore batting, backing and binding fabrics. Supply list.
Valentine Pillowcase In A Tube: Sat, Jan 10th: 1-3 pm; $35 includes fabric & thread. Choose from one of 3
Valentine prints—all prewashed and ready to go! Bring your sewing machine or use one of ours; you’ll need your
cutting tools and pins.
Get To Know Your Sewing Machine: Sat, Jan 10th: 10-noon. $25. Bring your machine, attachments, presser feet and instruction book if you have one. We’ll introduce you to your machine, describe and try functions, learn
to thread it and wind a bobbin and do some sewing.
Open Sew Opportunities: Every Tuesday and Thursday;4-9 pm. $5 Special open sew on Sat, Jan 17th; 10-4 pm;
$10.
Monthly Applique Groups: We have 2 monthly appliqué groups. One meets on the 1st Sunday, 1-4 pm and
the other on the 3rd Friday, 10-2 pm. Learn to appliqué with us, refresh your skills or take on new challenges—our
appliqué groups are for everyone! New appliquers should check with us for a supply list when calling to sign up. $40
for six month (Jan-June) session. Minimum of 6 people signed up for 3 month period to run each group;
$37.50 for Sunday; $49.95 for Friday.
Monthly Stitchery Groups: We have 2 monthly hand stitchery groups; one meets on the 1st Tueday;10-2 pm
and the other on 2nd Saturdays, 10-4 pm. Beginners are always welcome to join us for hand embroidery, wool/
wool felt embroidery, punch needle or English Paper Piecing. Beginners should check with us when signing up so they
have fabric washed and ready to go when coming to their first session. Tuesday group: $37.50 for 3 months; Sat
group: $75.00 for 3 months.
Pineapple Ruler: Sat, Jan 31; 9-4. $60. Join Joanne in making perfect Pineapple blocks using the Creative Grids
ruler (included in class fee). Great way to use stash and scraps. Make a runner (see ours on Facebook) or get a start
on a quilt. Supply list.

My Favorite Things Early Bird Sampler: Sat, Feb 8: 9 am. $2 pattern fee. Please note change in time
and pattern fee. This program continues with a block each month. Block construction demo along with other
information. Perfect for the new quilter who has taken the basic class and is looking for interaction with fellow quilters. A great way to start a new quilt!
2015 Primitive Quilts Project: Sat, Jan 31: 9-4. $35 per session. Join Melissa in this year-long project to make
4 seasonal wall hanging/table toppers that have a pieced and quilted fabric base with wool, wool felt and fabric
(whatever your preference) applique and hand stitchery. You will need to purchase Primitive Quilts magazine for
this class. At this first session, you will be constructing the quilt base for the summer project. Supply list.
Coming Up in February:

Beginning Sewing: 3 sessions on Saturdays, 1-4 pm. February 7 and 21 and March 7. $150.00 includes
9 hours of instruction and all fabrics and tools except sewing machine, although we do have a limited number of
machines available.

