Session «Mixed-use (multi-purpose ) congress and exhibition venues
Congresses and exhibitions are ones of the most important tools of boosting
economic development. The modern world is changing. This changes demand the
new approach for building major Congress and Exhibition Centres, as well as for
managing them efficiently. Most congresses and exhibitions are currently held in
trade complexes, stadiums and other unspecialised venues. Creating specialised
professional venues, as well as adapting unspecialised venues for congresses and
exhibitions, plays a very important role in the economic development of cities and
the country as a whole, in promoting destinations and increasing their
attractiveness for business and tourism.
The government and major corporations make investments into building
major Congress and Exhibition Centres and create whole congress and exhibition
clusters through public-private partnerships in order to increase the quality of
urban life, from the cultural and economic to competitive advantages. In this
matter, the issue of managing exhibition venues in an efficient manner becomes
more and more relevant. For the second time in its history, Europe+Asia Event
Forum will serve as an efficient platform for discussing the main trends in the
development of venue management.
Invited to participate:

How a model CVB should work to enhance both the partners and
industry and to have a positive impact on the region. Shall CVB have
members? Do we need to attend trade show or create our own events? Do
we promote the destination or bid for a new business? Do we need a CVB at
all?
These are the questions asked by decision makers in many cities abroad
as well as in Russia. Are there any good answers? In our session you will have
a chance to see the actual case studies showing the role of CVB from a
different perspective: a client one (an event agency and a venue) as well as a

Plenary session «The cross way of the meetings industry»
Event organisers and event agencies usually tend to occupy different market niches. The current economic environment appeals for new rules of the
game. Companies are expanding their terms of reference, trying to extend influence in new sectors. Professional congress organisers are testing their
skills in holding parties and various corporate and public events, while event companies, in turn, are deviating from parties and team-buildings to
managing seminars and conferences.
How this affects the development of the industry as a whole? How this affects the quality of events? Two business competitors or partners?
Can the Jack-of-all-trades principle be applied to hosting events? These questions will be discussed by industry experts.
