Roads are maintained in the following order: • Primary roads (high volume traffic) • Secondary roads (low volume traffic) • Rear laneways When salting operations become ineffective (usually after 5 cm/2 in. accumulation), ploughing operations will begin. It is our goal to plough all City roads in less than 16 hours from the end of a snowfall. To assist you during periods of HEAVY snowfall, the City operates a sidewalk snow ploughing program. However, this does not alleviate your obligations under the by-law to ensure the public sidewalk is kept in a safe manner. Reminders • Please do not park vehicles on the road during salting and ploughing operations. Police and/or the City's by-law officers will tag and/or tow vehicles blocking road ploughing/salting operations • It is against the law to place snow or ice on the public road • You are not permitted to construct curbing or other such encroachments on City property These encroachments pose a hazard to snow plough operators. The City does not repair damage to curbs or other similar encroachments that are situated on City property • As a result of windrow clearing operations, scratches and minor damage may occur to the driveway. You are reminded that the City does not repair such damage WARD AREA MAP 31 Public Works... Working For You!
