Time has been the greatest challenge with this unit. It is clear to see the influence hats have across every aspect of our society. Here is a fun idea that you can do at home with your own children. Look through the newspaper or a magazine and find images of people wearing hats. Then, have a discussion around both the hat and the person wearing it. You will be amazed at the depth of knowledge your child has developed. Watch for more “Hats” information to be coming your way. The following information is “Old Hat” but if you need you reach me for any reason I can be reached at: [email protected] or by calling: 480.397.9260. Honor Roll: Students who earn all A’s, B’s O’s and S’s on their report card. Odyssey of the Mind: The Odyssey team has opened up Pandora’s Box this past week. They have a basic understanding of the story and began brainstorming. The students had Thanksgiving week off and will continue brainstorming creative ideas to develop their problem/solution. Our parent coaches are a tremendous asset to the “TEAM”. We look forward to a great year. The front office will close at 3:15 pm on the first Wednesday of every month, for our all staff meeting. We apologize for any Inconvenience! Office closed at 3:15 On Wednesday 1/07/2015 FRIENDLY REMINDER Please do not park your vehicle in the pick up and drop off lanes, this is causing a huge delay in our system. Also, most important, it has been brought to our attention that parents are parking in the handicapped parking spots without proper plates. Please use the regular parking spaces if you do not have a handicapped plate or window sticker. Keep in mind that there are a lot of students walking to school and they don’t always use the crosswalk, so be sure you keep a good eye and watch your speed in the parking lot during drop off and pick up. Late Pick Up Reminder “A” schedule pick up is from 2:20-2:40 p.m. “B” schedule pick up is from 3:00-3:20 p.m. Please make arrangements to have your student picked up on time. We understand unexpected delays happen, we ask that when they do, you call the front office and let our staff know as soon as possible. If parents are consistently late picking up their child, a fee is incurred. Reminder, students with siblings in afterschool tutoring or clubs may not wait in the office or a classroom until the sibling is done. Arrangements must be made to pick up children at the appropriate times. If late, be sure to come into the office to sign out your student. Thank you for your understanding! Each week we will be spotlighting one of the outstanding bulletin boards here on our campus. This is a special peek for those parents who don’t have the opportunity to see them each month. A lot of work goes into the planning and execution of the boards and we thank our teachers, staff and parent volunteers for putting forth the effort each month—they are so fun to see! This week’s OUTSTANDING Bulletin Board goes to… MRS. DRAPER Congratulations!!! 5
