From the North:
Take Interstate 25 South to Crossroads Boulevard
(Exit 259). Take 3rd right in roundabout and go
under the highway – you will be heading East on
Crossroads Blvd. Continue East around the next
roundabout and turn left at the 1st traffic light on
Clydesdale Parkway. Proceed North on Clydesdale
Parkway to the entrance of the hotel. The main hotel
lobby entrance will be on your right after the entrance
to the John Q. Hammons Conference Center.
From the South:

Healthcare professionals involved in the care of cardiovascular
patients will benefit from this informative program. This year’s
dynamic program will focus on a variety of topics related to
cardiovascular disease, cardiac rehabilitation, the controversies
of cholesterol management and the future of artificial heart
technology. The conference will also provide an opportunity to
network with colleagues and learn more about the CardioVascular
Institute of North Colorado.
Course Objectives
At the completion of the conference the participant will be able to:

Analyze current challenges in under-dosing and poor compliance
of prescribed cardio-protective medication in patients with heart
disease.
•
Summarize the 5 A’s in counseling individuals to adopt healthier
behaviors: assess, advise, agree, assist, arrange.
•
Recognize the increasing role of patient self-responsibility and
meeting certain health metrics as part of future healthcare
coverage programming.
•
Review coronary angiography: anatomy versus physiology.
•
Compare the difference between deep and superficial venous
anatomy
•
Identify the symptoms of superficial and deep vein pathology
•
Explain the differences and reasoning between old and new
cholesterol guidelines
•
Compare the population effects of old and new cholesterol
guidelines.
•
Describe how mindfulness affects your performance, productivity,
and overall well-being
•
Recognize skills that can transform healthcare today, through
change in attitude.
•
Discuss the natural history of abdominal aortic aneurysm
•
Identify risk factors of abdominal aortic aneurysm
•
Examine treatment options for abdominal aortic aneurysm
•
Identify the existing options for mechanical circulatory support.
•
Recognize patients who are failing with traditional therapy, and
when moving to mechanical circulatory support is indicated.
