Let all the people praise God. Hallowed be God= s

John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness.
Why the wilderness?
Because that is where God often meets his people.
Should we go there?
No, our Lord can meet us here just as well…if we extend the
invitation.
Come, Lord God, join our worship. Meet with us here, this day.

Prayer of Confession
You know us too well, O God. You know our fears and our
pretences. You know our darkest secrets and our faintest
2
hopes. We come this day to confess our sins – not that we tell
you anything new. Rather we confess so that you will help us
turn away from our sin, that you will forgive us, and you will
give us strength to keep the faith. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
