A Moment with the Pastor
As I sit to write my first article for 2015, I find myself full of excitement in anticipation of
God’s blessing for First Baptist Church. I have to admit much of this feeling is based on our
Christmas celebration in December and last Sunday’s start to a new year. I believe we had
one of the greatest Decembers as we worshipped and celebrated the birthday of our Savior.
Then we started the new year with Deacon-Led Prayer Meeting. There was good attendance
and as always a wonderful time of prayer and fellowship (Thank you Deacons, Sunday School
teachers, and host homes). Let’s covenant to pray for God’s continued blessings as we seek
and follow His will and plan for us in 2015.
We welcome James Jackson and his family to our church. James begins his ministry with us this week as our
Grow Pastor (Minister of Education and Discipleship). We are excited being back to full staff again.
I know there has been a lot of sickness already. I, myself was down after the Christmas Eve service for a week
with what has been going around. I sympathize with many of you. I hope to see many of you back this Sunday.
Travis
No matter what kind of losing (or winning) streak you may
find yourself in, we want to tackle once and for all the issues
that keep us from the goal line. It starts with God’s
forgiveness—the freeing force that fuels the most epic
comebacks! The Johnny Hunt Men’s Conference is an
ongoing ministry of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock.
Over the past 30 years, Pastor Hunt has seen thousands of
men ministered to during this unique event each year. On
Friday evening, January 30 & Saturday morning, January 31,
we are hosting the 2015 Johnny Hunt Men's Conference via
live simulcast in the FBC Chapel. The simulcast will include
each of the keynote sessions led by Johnny Hunt and two of
the breakout sessions featuring Boyd Bailey & Bob Record.
The conference simulcast is free; there is a $10 charge for a
pre-conference steak dinner. Men, please sign-up for the
conference by emailing [email protected] or
calling John at 65-0606, ext. 221.
