It’s A Conspiracy!
Conspiracy theories have a long life. In .22 seconds Google
provided me a list of 9,400,000 web sites with references to
“conspiracy.” Some conspiracies center around the assassination
of President Kennedy. Some detail their belief that man never
walked on the moon. Some are interesting to read. Some are just
plain silly.
God himself details a conspiracy in this week’s psalm of the
day, Psalm 2. He says that the nations conspire against the Lord
and against his Anointed One. David describes this conspiracy almost a thousand years before the Anointed One, Jesus, was born.
What is God’s response? He laughs at this conspiracy! It
can have no effect on him or his plan to save you and me. God’s
power overcomes anything sinful man can throw at him. God’s
love moves him to use his power to save us. Nations may conspire
against him but they will fail. Herod may attack infants. Pilate may
condemn an innocent man. Nero may kill a faithful apostle. But
these acts individually and collectively cannot thwart God’s plan
to take away your sins through Jesus’ life and death. These actions cannot stop the march of the saving gospel throughout the
world.
Conspiracies come and go, but God’s gospel continues to
save. It saves us and it is spread through us!

Psalm 2 (selected verses)
Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.

we feel it is unfair to force the high school to forfeit a possible high school
home playoff game to an away game. We would not know for sure if those
dates will be open until just days before our tournaments. So the league
came up with the following suggestion.
I think that most people agree that the current setup for our season and
the tournament has been a good one. When we realized that this setup is no
longer a possibility, we looked for a way to run these seasons and tournaments that would be beneficial and enjoyable for our student athletes and
their families. The other issue that we had to keep in mind was that we will
only be able to use MLHS for only two weekends in the future, as opposed to
the three we currently have been using.
We came up with a plan that would essentially move the beginning of the
