A: The Blue Box LTD is the latest addition to the Blue Box portfolio. It is a load (lighting, plug load,
motor, etc.) control panel typically mounted in an electrical room. It features both dimming and
switching capability and the master panel provides astronomical time clock control.
Q: What is the pricing for Blue Box LTD?

Q: How do I program the Blue Box LTD?
A: The DTC programming of the Blue Box LTD is similar to that of the as the Micropanel and
programming instructions can be found in the “Blue Box LTD Operations and Maintenance Manual”.
Q: What is the difference between the Blue Box Classic, the Blue Box LT and the Blue Box LTD?
A: The main improvements include:
 Dimming capability
 More robust relay
 Larger enclosure
Q: What is the difference between the Blue Box LTD and the MicroPanel?
A: Panel placement: the MicroPanel’s compact footprint was designed to mount in the ceiling plenum.
The Blue Box LTD has a larger enclosure for ease of wiring and may be mounted in the electrical room
with many door options. The Blue Box LTD can be ordered as a Master panel with an integrated time
clock and improved relays.
Q: What is the Field Configurable Relay (FCR) and how does it differ from the SnapLink Relay?
A: The FCR relay is a latching relay that can be converted from 1-Pole relays to 2-Pole and 3-Pole relays
in the field. The relay also includes a manual override lever, more robust ratings, and mounts to
standard DIN rail.

Q: Can I mix a SnapLink Relay with a Field Configurable Relay in one enclosure?
A: No, they may not be mixed and will cause physical and electrical damage if attempted.
Q: How do I configure the Field Configurable Relay for multi-pole use?
A: See the “Blue Box LTD Operations and Maintenance Manual”.
Q: What does the FCR’s manual lever do?
A: The manual lever physically changes the state of the relay. Please note that this does not change the
logical state of the relay within the panel.
Q: How do I get more bridges and clips to convert my relays from 1-Pole to 2-Pole and 3-Pole?
A: A small number of bridges and clips are provided with every panel. Additional clips and bridges may
be ordered separately if needed.
Q: What is new about the driver board?
A: The driver board includes one 0-10V output per relay:
 0-10V source/sink has been increased to 35mA
 4 indoor photocell inputs are included
 4 pull high contacts for standard occupancy sensors are included
 4 pull low contacts for fire alarm, BMS, dry contact switches, and occupancy sensors with
isolated relay are included.
Q: What is new about the Blue Box LTD enclosure?
A: The Blue Box LTD enclosure is dimensionally different to allow more room for installers to wire and
terminate more efficiently given there’s more room inside the new panels.
Q: Can I put the SnapLink relay in the new enclosure?
A: No; the SnapLink relay, smacker strip and controller will not go into the new enclosure and is not
interoperable with the components in the Blue Box LTD.
Q: What types of doors/covers are available for the Blue Box LTD?
A: Both hinged locking or screw covers are available for Blue Box LTD.

Q: How many dimming and how many switching relays can I have in the same enclosure?
A: Any of the relays within the Blue Box LTD dimming panel can be used as a switching or dimming relay.
Q: Can a single occupancy sensor control multiple relays? How many?
A: Yes, a single occupancy sensor can control any number of relays within the panel it is connected to. If
occupancy sensors need to control relays across panels, add the DI option or use a DigiLink to integrate
the occupancy sensors.
Q: What are the regulatory certifications for the Blue Box LTD?
A: UL 916, UL 924
Q: Is the Blue Box LTD Title 24 compliant?
A: Yes, the Blue Box LTD can be used to assist in meeting commercial building energy code compliance.
Q: Can the Blue Box LTD be used for outdoor applications?
A: The FCR relays are 40A relays that can be tied together to form multipole relays. This makes it an
ideal solution for most outdoor lighting loads. The Blue Box LTD comes standard in a NEMA 1 enclosure
for indoor spaces. If the panel is to be mounted outdoors, an alternate NEMA enclosure is available.
Q: What is the difference between the Blue Box LTD master and Blue Box LTD remote?
A: The Blue Box LTD master includes an astronomical time clock and a programming interface integrated
into the panel.
Q: How do I program the dimming function on the Blue Box LTD?
A; Dimming functions can be programmed through the digital time clock (DTC). Programming
instructions can be found in the “Blue Box LTD Operations and Maintenance Manual”.
Q: Does Acuity Controls offer remote programming assistance on the Blue Box LTD?
A: When purchased with the modem, Acuity Controls can access the Blue Box LTD panel upon request
and can assist with remote programming assistance.

Q: What’s the Blue Box LTD warranty?
A: The Blue Box LTD includes the Acuity Controls standard three year warranty. Extended warranties are
available from the factory.
Q: What’s the difference between the DIN mount and a SnapLink mount?
A: The FCR used the DIN rail to mount into the enclosure chassis, whereas the SnapLink uses SnapTrak.
These two mounting systems are unique and are not interchangeable.
Q: What upgrade options are available for Blue Box LTD?
A: Virtually all LC&D accessories will work with the Blue Box LTD. Please contact Acuity Controls
