SENIORS: Remember…scholarship notebooks are due 3 weeks from this Friday, on January 30. If you haven’t started
working on your notebook – PLEASE START NOW!  Feel free to stop by the Guidance office and look at examples of
notebooks to help you as you put yours together. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Hill.
Peninsula College will be hosting a College Goal Washington event to help students and their families learn about and apply for
financial aid for college on Jan 24 from 1-4 pm. You do not need to be attending Peninsula College to attend this event.

JUNIORS – If you have not picked up your PSAT scores, please see Ms. Hill in the Guidance Office to get your results and
booklet.
PA High student Sequim High student "K" took Natural Resources Options class and then got an awesome paid internship. You
can too. One day per week after school during second semester will earn you science, English or career credit, two optional
college credits, dozens of community service hours, and the chance for real internships. Spaces are available with Olympic
Coast National Marine Sanctuary, Feiro Marine Life Center, Streamkeepers, and Olympic National Park. Visit Mr. Henry's room
110 ASAP to sign up, as space is limited.
Club Meetings: current clubs that have scheduled meetings are:
Christian Club- meets Monday at lunch in Mr. Moseley’s room 415
GSA meets Monday at lunch time in the Guidance Annex. All students are welcome to join us!
Youth in Government: Meets at the YMCA Library on Monday Night at 7pm. Come and join us.
National Honor Society meets Tuesday at lunch in Room 912. New members are always welcome!
Chess Club meets on Tuesday during lunch in Room 905.
Science Club meets in room 912 every Wednesday at lunch.
Popsicle Stick Bridge Building Competition meets on Wednesday in Room 604 after school
Sign Language Club meets in room 417, Mr. Rennie’s room, Thursday’s at lunch. We have lots of beginners, and some
very experienced students to help us all. So, come join Sign Language Club.
Native American Club meets Thursday at lunch in room 908

Coast Guard Academy applications are available at http://www.uscga.edu/admissions2.aspx?id=60
Application deadline is Jan. 15, 2015. No minimum test scores required, but applicants who are accepted typically have scores
in the mid 600s for Math and English.
Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) is an international leadership and service organization. ESA Foundation is the tax-exempt arm of
the organization that focuses on scholarships and grants (it is a public foundation). ESA Foundation has numerous scholarships
available for Washington State high school seniors. For more information, and to see the list of scholarships, please visit
www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org and click on Scholarships & Grants. Deadlines vary by scholarship.
Willamette University offers an Olympic Scholarship exclusively to high school graduates from Clallam and Jefferson
counties and to transfer students from Peninsula College. The amount is determined by Willamette University, with a minimum
of $2,000. This is normally a one-year award. At graduation, each recipient is designated an Olympic Scholar. For more

Application deadline is Jan. 31, 2015. Students must have the following minimum test scores to be considered:
SAT: 520 Math; 530 Verbal/Critical Reading, ACT: 21 Math; 22 English: mid 600s
Army ROTC Scholarship applications are available at http://www.goarmy.com/rotc.html

SAT: 920 (math/verbal) or ACT: 19 (excluding the required writing test scores).
Applications are now being accepted for the 2015-16 American Indian Endowed Scholarships (AIES). You can download
the applications at http://www.readysetgrad.org/college/american-indian-endowed-scholarship. Due by February 1, 2015.
EWING C. KELLY SCHOLARSHIP: Applications must be completed and returned to the scholarship committee no later
than March 10, 2015.
The following Washington State School Retirees’ Association scholarship applications are now available online at
www.wssra.org: Robert J. Handy Scholarship $900/yr renewable for 4 years (16 scholarships available) – criteria includes
grades, citizenship, self-reliance. WSSR Foundation Scholarship $1500 (8 scholarships available). Neil D. Prescott
Scholarship $1500 (1 scholarship available)
