Late Breaker: RSV season may have arrived, right on the heels of an influenza season that may (or may not)
be abating. Two influenza–associated pediatric deaths have been reported statewide so far. This value is
similar to the 2.75 flu-related pediatric deaths per season (excluding the pandemic) in Colorado since such
data was collected in 2004. By comparison, the CDC website says there have been 21 influenza-linked US
pediatric deaths from 11 states so far in the 2014-2015 flu season. Follow the patterns of influenza circulation
in Colorado at https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/influenza-data and nationally at http://www.cdc.gov
/flu/weekly/.
