BE A LIFESAVER
Please support the New Rochelle YMCA
Pool Repair Capital Campaign
The Y is facing a major pool repair.
Recently, it was discovered that the steel beams supporting the roof structure, but covered by the pool’s drop ceiling, have
corroded to a point that may require full replacement. The drop ceiling - no longer permitted in pool design - trapped the
moisture and hid the problem. Compounding the issue, the ventilation system was not adequate to remove the moisture.
New ceiling construction will include the replacement of the pool’s inadequate ventilation system and lighting. The welcome
addition of windows in the pool area will contribute energy-saving natural light. And updated locker rooms will boost retention
and acquisition of members by adding “curb appeal” to our facility.
These improvements will position the New Rochelle YMCA to serve the region for years to come and continue providing
incredibly valuable services at affordable fees.
Those of us closely involved with the YMCA understand the impact of Y services on the quality of life for the many communities
we serve, including New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, the Bronx and Pelham. Our challenge is to educate those unfamiliar with the
impact of the Y and garner their emotional and financial support. Because together we can do so much more.
Now is the call to action to donate vital dollars to the Be A Lifesaver campaign. To
make an online donation today, please visit www.nrymca.org/lifesaver
Or, fill in the below Lifesaver pledge form and return to New Rochelle YMCA
50 Weyman Avenue, New Rochelle, New York 10805. Thank you!
