Last Updated: January 9, 2015 JJP Disney 2015 Pearce High School Orchestra Spring Trip Rules and Guidelines, Disney, 2015 Whenever you travel, give the best possible impression of the music program at Pearce High School and Richardson ISD. Many people have shown their pride and confidence in you by giving much financial assistance and personal effort to make this trip possible. Each of us should make sure that we behave in a manner worthy of this unselfish support and pride. The tradition of the school and the music department is the responsibility of each of its members. Students who do not act in accordance with the regulations as slated for this trip will be subject to disciplinary action on the school level. Decisions in this area will be made by the professional staff and school administration. Please note that the guidelines stated here will serve as the “applicable rules and policies” as indicated on the Trip Release Form that every parent has signed off on prior to the trip. No signed copy of this form is necessary. General Rules and Guidelines 1. Know the itinerary and follow it at all times; this includes being ON TIME. Be considerate and courteous to chaperones and directors; follow their instructions carefully. 2. For this trip there are no assigned busses but students must collect their bus cards each time they load and turn in the card each time they unload (to a chaperone). Students must be prepared to load buses 15 minutes prior to each departure time. 3. For your safety, students must stay in groups of three (3) or more (no loners!!!) at all times. Do not make random acquaintances of any age on this trip. 4. Money/valuables of any kind should not be left out when you are not present. 5. Check your room carefully upon arrival and report any irregularities or damage to your chaperone. Rooms should be kept reasonably clean at all times. Damage to hotel rooms or missing hotel items will paid for by the occupants of the room. 6. Keep noise levels at a minimum; there are other guests staying in our hotel. 7. Students may NOT visit rooms of the opposite sex unless a director or chaperone is present. Students will refrain from inappropriate displays of affection. 8. Chaperones will check and secure (tape) rooms each evening. After this time, students may not leave the room for any reason until the chaperone comes for wake-up call or they have called their chaperone for permission to leave. In the event of an emergency, students should contact their chaperone and/or directors immediately. Secure locks after each room check. 9. Students are not to leave an assigned area for any reason (i.e. a restaurant where the organization is eating, contest site, hotel, recreational activity, etc.) Students are not to get into vehicles other than the designated school transportation. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken for violation of this policy. 10. Smoking or tobacco use of any kind is not permitted on this trip (even by students 18 or older). Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs constitutes a severe breach of discipline as described in the RISD alcohol and drug policy. Engaging in these activities is grounds for immediate removal from the trip at his/her expense and school disciplinary action. 11. The directors reserve the right to have the Administrator inspect the student’s rooms and luggage without warning if it is deemed necessary; chaperones may be asked to assist. 12. Any student in violation of local or state laws will be turned over to the local authorities. If the student is returned to the organization, he/she will immediately be sent home at the parent’s expense. Special note: In real life, people are many times “Guilty by Association.” While on this trip you are under the direct supervision of Mrs. Livings, Ms. Teske-Gallman and designated chaperones. If you are aware that rules or guidelines are not being followed and do not report it, you are at risk of being punished with the guilty party.
