Lecturers of the Colleges / Universities, commencing form 07/01/2015. They are requested to join the

The Candidates are required to bring relieving from the respective Principals /HODs at the time
of joining the Course according to the format attached herewith. The candidates are also requested to
bring two latest passport sized photographs at the time of joining.
Note: Those out station participants having local residence at Patna will not be entitled to T.A. However,
they will be paid D.A as admissible to out station participants.
Important :
The selected participant are requested to send an acceptance letter in the enclosed format along with a
Demand Draft of Rs.500/-(Rupees Five Hundred only - NON-REFUNDABLE) drawn in favour of Director,
U.G.C. Academic Staff College, Patna University, Patna by Registered Post within seven days of the date of
receipt of this notification, so as to reach us latest by /01/2015, failing which their candidature may be
forfeited. A maximum of 30 participants would be admitted to the course and the registration would be on
First–Come–First–Serve basis.

Terms and Conditions for the Participants of Orientation Programme
The selection of participants in strictly made as per the UGC XIth plan guidelines.
The selection of participants is subject to the condition that she/he has been a Lecturer/Sr. Lecturer/Selection
Grade Lecturer with requisite numbers of years of service working in a university, or a college which is
included in the list of colleges under section 2(f) of the UGC Act or a college does not come in the purview of
section 2(f) but has been affiliated to a university for at least 5 years.
As no hostel accommodation is available, the participant will have to make their own arrangements for
stay at Patna during the course period. However, a few participants from outside states may be accommodated
in the University Guest House provided accommodation is available at that time.
The outstation participants would be paid AC 3 railway fare for journey beyond 500 KM or over
12 hours, whichever is less, on production of the railway ticket or a money receipt; otherwise, they will be
paid second class sleeper train fare or actual bus fare. They will be paid DA @Rs.250/= per day for the
entire course period.
The local participants will be paid @Rs.100/= per day and this will be payable for actual days of the
programme, except holidays/Sundays. The college falling under the municipal corporation of Patna will be
treated as local as per the UGC guidelines.
For admission to Refresher Course, participation in Orientation Programme is a pre requisite. Thereafter,
with a gap of one year they can opt for Refresher Course. Also there should be a minimum gap of one year
between two Refresher Courses. If the candidate has been working as reader/or not undergone Orientation
Programme/ or has attended Refresher Courses during the last one year to the present, he/she should not report
for this programme.
The selected participants are requested to report to the course Coordinator / Director, Academic Staff
College, Director, Academic Staff College, Dept. of Education Building, Dariyapur, Patna, on the date and time
as mentioned in the selection letter for registration along-with (1) A demand draft of Rs.500/= (Rupees Five
Hundred only – non-refundable) drawn in favour of Director, UGC Academic Staff College, Patna

University, Patna, payable at Patna as the registration fee which is non-refundable as per UGC XI
plan guidelines, if not already done. (2) A letter from the Principal/HOD relieving him/her on
deputation/duty leave to attend the said programme on the format mentioned below and (3) two passport sized
photographs duly attested by the concerned Principal/HOD.
For the award of certificate (a) 75% attendance is essential (b) Evaluation of the candidate would be done as per
UGC guidelines.
