From Our Pastor
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Jesus comes forward as one of the many people who heard
John, as one just like any other person. John knows that the one
to come is at the same me different from all other people. Jesus’s bapsm
was a moment of intense revelaon; he saw the Spirit descend upon him;
he hears the voice of the Father say: “You are my beloved Son. . . .” (Mark
1:11). He will show us the way to the Father by walking it himself.

A Word to Embrace
O Word of God,
sent forth from the mouth of the Father,
bapzed by John in the Jordan River,
consecrated by the Holy Spirit,
and proclaimed beloved Son,
be for us God’s Word
of wisdom and salvaon.
Like God’s words through his prophets,
sent to shower earth and hearts
and make them fruiOul,
come into our hearts!
Drench us with understanding of your ways.
and let your will for us be done.
We ask this through the same Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
