This requires a scaling up of support for national innovation capacity-building, particularly in developing countries. The ability to measure and keep track of progress in this regard is central to making effective, evidenced-based policy choices for development. This side event will present the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2014, which is co-published by WIPO, Cornell University and INSEAD, and ranks the innovation performance of 143 countries and economies around the world based on 81 indicators.
