Boys Basketball Tournament

Grades 5 – 8 – No AAU/All-Star Teams
Grade 5 (B Level Only) / Grade 7 (C Level) / Grade 7 (B Level) / Grade 8 (B Level)
Certified referees will officiate and WIAA rules will be followed. Some
exceptions/modifications to rules:
 Games will consist of two 20-minute halves
 Clock will stop during the last one minute of the first half and two minutes
of the second half, unless one team is up 15 points or more.
 5-minute warm-up and 3-minute halftime, time permitting. Games will start
when the previous game ends.
 Press – Pressing is allowed until a team is winning by 15 points.
 Technical foul – automatic 2 points and the ball for the offended team.
 Two technical fouls is an automatic ejection from the tournament.
 Three time-outs per game
 1-and-1 bonus on the 7th foul; double bonus on the 10th foul.
 Teams must play at their grade level.
 28.5” ball for grades 5 and 6
Concessions will be available (No carry in concessions please)
Admission – Adults - $3, Children age 5 and up - $1
 Entry Fee is $175 and teams are guaranteed 3 games (round robin).
 Only four teams per age group so register asap.

 No team’s spot will be reserved without full payment, roster and waiver.
We will take up to 8 teams at each age group, so enter early if you intend
to play.
 Make your check payable to Shorewood Rec. Dept. and mail it to
Shorewood Recreation, 1701 E Capitol Drive, Shorewood, WI 53211. You
will receive confirmation that we have received your fees, waiver, and
roster, and your team is entered into the tournament.
 Any player not included on the team waiver form will not be permitted to
play. If no team waiver is submitted, the team will not be permitted to
play and no refund will be issued. Waiver form is available on the web site
and attached to this flyer.
 Players may be on only one roster for the tournament.
 In the unlikely event that the tournament would be cancelled, you will
receive a full refund. However, there will be no refunds if the tournament is
held as scheduled and your team does not show up.

Shorewood School District Participation Waiver
I, the undersigned, do hereby agree to allow the individual(s) named herein to
participate in the activity(ies) indicated. I am aware of and understand that
there may be potential risks inherent with participation in any recreation activity
and that the Shorewood School District and the Recreation Dept. does not
provide accident insurance and cannot assume responsibility for injury to any
participants in the recreation programs. I assume all risks and hazards incidental
to such participation including transportation to and from the activities and do
hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the
Shorewood Recreation Dept. employees, staff and other persons for any and
all claims, injuries, liabilities, damage or right of action directly or indirectly
arising out of use of Shorewood Recreation and Community Services
Department activities. In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize the
department staff to obtain medical treatment for the above named.
