University of Bristol
Further to your enquiry regarding our wedding ceremony or reception
venues, we have pleasure in enclosing our current information, which
outlines venues and facilities we are able to offer.
The University of Bristol is custodian of some of the City’s most beautiful
and historic buildings, which are ideal wedding venues with a difference.
Our professional team of caterers and service staff are able to offer tailor
made packages to suit your requirements and various budgets.
You will find details of the venues enclosed, including capacities and a
venues map. We will be happy to advise you of availability, menus,
costings, and to make arrangements for you to visit the venue to
discuss your needs in more detail.

Civil Ceremony and/or Reception Venue

Licensed rooms:
Mahogany Parlour
(maximum capacity of 40 people)
Cost:
£570 (Monday to Thursday)
£600 (Friday to Sunday)
Orangery
(maximum capacity of 110 people)
Cost:
£1,200 (Monday to Thursday)
Mahogany Parlour and Orangery are fully
inclusive of:
•Pedestal of flowers in the Ceremony Room
•Welcome room for guests to gather before
the ceremony
•A separate room for introductions with
the Registrar
•Access to the Gardens for photographs
After a provisional booking has been made
for the Mahogany Parlour or the Orangery,
arrangements must be made at the Registry
Office. Charges incurred for the notices and
ceremony itself must be paid direct to the
Registrar (Tel: 0117 922 2800).
Reception:
The Orangery is a beautiful light room
overlooking ten acres of formal grounds.
Capacity: 110 (seated), 150 (informal/buffet)
Room hire is charged at:
£1,300 (Monday to Thursday)
£1,900 (Friday)
£2,100 (Saturday or Sunday) from
10.30am – 11.30pm, by arrangement with the
Conference Office.
Drinks will be served up until 11pm and we
cannot extend the license past 11.30pm as we
are in a residential area.
DJs and Discos are not permitted, however light
music, small groups or bands are acceptable
(no larger than a 5-piece band).
Exclusive catering at Goldney Hall is by
Fosters Event Catering (Tel: 0117 977 6611),
quotations on request.

Please note:
Ceremonies at the Mahogany Parlour can be
held Monday to Sunday, between 10am and
4pm during student vacations. Friday to Sunday
Ceremonies must be followed by a Reception.
Ceremonies at the Orangery can be held Monday
to Thursday, between 10am and 4pm.

Licensed rooms:
Wills Reception Room
(maximum capacity of 70 people).
The Fisher Drawing Room and Symonds Music
Room (combined, these rooms can seat up to
75 people, with a maximum capacity of
90 guests, some standing).
These rooms can be used as one large room or
two smaller areas. Both are carpeted and afford
spectacular views over the gardens and the city.
A Yamaha baby grand piano is available in the
Symonds Music Room.
Cost:
£600 (Monday to Thursday)
£750 ceremony only (Friday to Sunday)
£650 (Friday to Sunday) when accompanied
by a Reception at Goldney Hall.
