Christians Together Service for the Week
of Prayer for Christian Unity
Holsworthy: Rev John Henry - Holy Communion
We extend the warmest of welcomes to you, and hope the worship will
bring you closer to God. If you are visiting or worshipping with us for
the first time, we hope you will be able to stay for a chat over a cup
of tea or coffee after the service.
This morning is our annual Covenant Service, when we re-commit
ourselves to God’s service.
As a church we believe in a living God who is active in our lives. If God has
touched you or stirred something in you this morning or there is something in
your life which needs praying about please don't leave today without praying
with someone. Find someone to pray with you and invite The Holy Spirit to do
His work. If you don't know who to ask, one of the stewards can find someone
for you.
There is also the prayer net at the front of church where you can leave your
concerns with God.
"Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so God can heal you.
When a believing person prays, great things happen." James 5:16
TIME & SPACE.
Our new informal Act of Worship begins on Thursday
15th January at 11.30 in the Church led by Rev Neal Street. It is hoped to
continue this on a fortnightly basis. This is a new initiative by Neal and the
Stewards to offer another time for worship and we hope this will attract
folk from ‘across the water’ so to speak. If you know anyone who you think
would benefit from ‘Time & Space’ do please invite them to come along there are handbills available in the porch.
STARTING IN JANUARY.
A new group will be starting this month hosted
by Mike & Jo McMillan and Justin & Sarah Riviere. This will be an informal group
sharing food and exploring answers to life and faith.
If you would like to be a part of this group or know anyone who would please
speak to one of us.
INVITATION.
Rachel Pitt & Andrew Toynbee would like to invite all church
members to their Wedding Service at 1pm on Saturday 24th January and to also
attend a Cream Tea & cutting of the Wedding Cake in the Hall afterwards. They
particularly would like to share fellowship with you all in the Hall so please don’t
disappear after the service!
Many thanks, Rachel & Andrew

THE RED CROSS.
This is the cross that forms the backdrop to our prayer net.
Once upon a time it could be switched on to glow red but several years ago it failed
the PAT test and hasn't been switched on since. As several people have asked for
it to be switched on at different events lately we are seeing if this can be achieved
so the cross will be gone for a while and will hopefully return renewed.
