During January please note that there will be no
Saturday morning Mass and Friday morning Mass will
be at 8.15am instead of 9.15am.
SPARK supports newly arrived children and families of
refugee background in primary schools across Western
Sydney. We rely on the support of dedicated volunteers to run
our programs, and we are looking for people to join us in 2015
to assist refugee students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with
their homework, English language skills, social skills and overall confidence. Bright Sparks runs from 3-4.30pm one afternoon
per week, during school terms.

Parishioners are invited to attend the 38th Anniversary of
the Granville Train Disaster “The Day of the Roses” being
held at Granville Town Hall and Granville Memorial Garden, Carlton Street. Granville at 11.00am on Sunday 18th
January 2015. It is expected that the ceremony will run for
approximately one and a half hours followed by light
drinks and refreshments at Granville Town Hall.

The Vatican has released a new Lineamenta for the Ordinary Synod on the Family to be held in the US in October
this year. The document is composed of the Relatio Synodi,
which was the final document of the Extraordinary Synod
held in October 2014. The document also includes 46
questions on various aspects of the Relatio Synodi.
The Vatican is seeking feedback on these questions.
An online survey that includes a simplified version of the
questions has been posted on the diocesan website:

The Diocese of Parramatta would appreciate some of your
time to fill in this survey so that we can help shape the response that the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference
will send to Rome.

Seeking Mentors: Do you want to give
something back to your community?
Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is seeking
volunteer mentors who would like to give something
back to their community and host secondary students in
the workplace. The mentor hosts the student in the
workplace one day per week for two school terms (May
to September, excluding school holidays). All mentors
are offered free TAFE mentor training and receive a TAFE
Certificate of Attainment, ‘Mentoring in the Community’.
Mentors can be from any industry, an individual in any
trade area: clerical and administration, hairdressing and
