On Saturday 30 October at 10.00am the London Children’s
Children’s Film Festival opens at the Barbican with a Gala
Screening of MOOMINS AND THE COMET CHASE IN 3D (English voice over). The Opening Gala will be
attended by Moomins’ fan and children’s author Michael Morpurgo,
Morpurgo who will read a favourite extract from
Tove Jansson’s original story. Also coming along will be Moomintroll himself! Before the screening starts
everyone can tuck into a beautiful Finnish Breakfast prepared with recipes from the Moomins Cookbook
published by Self Made Hero and enjoy Moomin themed entertainment,
entertainment while in the Make Zone children can
drop in throughout the day and make a Moomin.
Moomin And due to popular demand, the LCFF has organised a
second screening of MOOMINS AND THE COMET CHASE IN 3D (English voice over) on Monday 1 November at
6.00pm.
MOOMINS AND THE COMET CHASE IN 3D is directed by Maria Lindberg and features the voices (in order of
appearance) of MAX VON SYDOW, ALEXANDER SKARSGARD, STELLAN SKARSGARD, MADS MIKKELSEN, PETER
STORMARE and The Comet Song by BJÖRK. Based on Tove Jansson’s book of the same name, Moominvalley
is in danger – a cloud of grey dust has covered everything and the sky has turned red. Moomintroll, Sniff and
Snufkin set off on a brave journey to find the wise professors who must know what’s happening.

language, a limited number of headsets will be available before each performance and will be allocated on
a first come, first served basis. Please contact a member of staff on your arrival in the cinema to obtain
