Origami Water Bomb

Origami Water Bomb
Here is a fun outdoor water activity for
children of all ages!
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Fold a square piece of paper diagonally in
one direction, unfold, then fold diagonally in
the other direction and unfold. Push the two
sides together to form a triangle.
Your paper should now be in the shape of a
triangle (also known as the swallow or the
pigeon fold).
Fold the left and right points upward to meet
at the top point.
Step 4
Step 5
Step 6
Your paper should now look like this.
Fold the tips of the triangles on the left and
right edges toward the center. The peaks
should meet in the center.
Your paper should now look like this.
Step 7
Step 8
Step 9
Fold the top two small triangles down to
meet the triangles folded in the previous
step.
Tuck these small triangles from step 7 into
the triangles formed in step 5. Be careful
when you do this step - it is a little awkward.
Your paper should now look like this.

Step 10
Step 11
Step 12
Turn your paper over and repeat steps 3-9
on this side.
Your paper should now look like this.
Fold the bottom peak up to meet the middle
fold, and fold the top peak down to meet the
middle fold. Your paper will be a square.
Unfold these two peaks.
Step 13
Step 14
One side of the paper now has a small hole
in it. Hold the paper gently in your hands
and blow into this hole to inflate your cube.
Your cube is now formed. Pour water into
the hole at the top of the cube and you are
ready to throw your water bomb!
Additional Tips:
- Always make sure to have crisp clean folds for best results.
- When blowing to inflate your water bomb, it inflates best when held perpendicular to the floor.
- Your water bomb won’t hold water for long, so you might want to be outside when you fill it!
- These water bombs are so much fun, you might want to make dozens of them before you head outside.
- Try experimenting with different kinds of paper to see what kind works best (this is a great way to recycle all that
junk mail)!
