Interior filter
For a continued flawless operation of the air conditioner, a regular replacement of the
internal air filter is strongly recommended: At least once a year, according to the rule of
thumb twice a year for frequent drivers. The replacement of the filter ensures not only
the air quality in the vehicle, but at the same time protects the fresh air blower motor,
because the air current can flow unimpeded.
- Nearly 100 % of the pollen, dust, other allergens and odours such as exhaust fumes
are filtered from the air.
- Particles down to 3 microns (0.003 mm) are effectively retained.
- The activated carbon layer acts like a sponge and binds harmful gases
in its pores, which are 10,000 times finer than a human
hair.
- The particulate matter inside the car,
which is hazardous to health, is
significantly reduced.

Self-adjusting disk spring clutch (SAC)
During the last few years there has been ever increasing use of SAC clutches
in applications with high torques or applications with higher requirements
for wear reserve.
The most important advantages of this design over previous versions are:
■ low release forces which remain approximately constant over the service life
■ resulting in higher driving comfort throughout the service life
■ higher wear reserve and hence longer service life due to automatic wear adjustment
■ Crossing of the release bearing is limited by the disk spring stop

This results in a number of other advantages:
■ easier clutch release system
■ shorter pedal travel
■ new ways to reduce the clutch diameter (torque transmission)
■ smaller working area of the release bearing across the working life

Performance features of EFB
technology
The battery has
an additional
polyester scrim
between the plate
and the separator.
This scrim keeps
the active material
in the plate and
prevents the body
experiencing any
erosion. The result:
improved durability against
exhaustive discharge and
superior charging. The glued-on
liner holds the plates at all times
in their intended position under all
usage conditions.
High vibration resistance
Thanks to the injected connectors,
the battery possesses even
higher vibration resistance,
as breaking of the vane
connections is prevented.
Additional connector fittings
hold the connections and
plates securely in their
positions. This guarantees
still higher vibration
resistance - even in the most
difficult road conditions.
Acid circulation
The acid circulator prevents acid stratification in the battery. This component makes use of the natural
movement of the vehicle to maintain continual acid circulation in the battery. The acid density remains
homogeneous, which improves the charging capacity and extends battery life.
