The Event Registration Form should be mailed to the registrar with a check or money order for the total fees. Online registration is not available. TUESDAY, JUNE 23 Optional Driving Tour—In order to tour a working cheese factory, all cars must depart by 8 a.m. Enjoy the “Lake Country” area and Northern Kettle Moraine hills. Tour includes a ’50s-style drive-in for lunch on your own and a stop at a beautiful basilica high on a hill with panoramic views, including downtown Milwaukee. Viewing area is elevator-accessible. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24 Klairmont Kollection—Located in Chicago, this private collection of 350 vehicles continues to expand. Larry Klairmont has assembled an eclectic group of domestic and foreign vehicles of many vintages. Lunch included. Wisconsin Auto Museum—The Wisconsin Auto Museum offers a variety of marques, concentrating on locally manufactured autos, including the Kissel, Nash, Rambler and AMC. Lunch follows at the Mineshaft Restaurant. Harley-Davidson Museum—H-D has assembled a wonderfully presented history, with an amazing amount of artifacts from 1903 to the present. Much more than motorcycles, it has attractions for the entire family. On Friday, the H-D event will include docent-led small groups, followed by time for personal browsing. River and Harbor Cruise—Tour Milwaukee’s waterways with a live commentary of the area’s history. Among other details, you will learn why the streets crossing the river do not line up with each other. The boat is a small version of the Viking-type rivercraft, with both interior and exterior viewing areas. Non-powered wheelchairs welcome. Old World Wisconsin—Operated by the State Historical Society, Old World Wisconsin is a collection of nearly 60 19th-century Wisconsin buildings, from European settlements reassembled on the 600-acre grounds. See heirloom gardens, working oxen teams, hearty meals cooking on woodburning stoves. Milk the cows. Bring in the eggs. Tour the village homes. Chat with the blacksmith. Visit the general store. THURSDAY, JUNE 25 Experimental Aircraft Association—The EAA has the most extensive collection of aviation attractions in the world, with more than 200 airplanes. Its large library of books, paintings, photographs and other materials total over 20,000 items, displayed on a rotating basis. Tour includes lunch. With 37 rooms and 10 baths, it was one of 60 such homes on the street then known as Grand Avenue. Wheelchairs OK. Once known as the Plank Road Brewery, MillerCoors will provide a plant tour, ending with samples in its Bavarian-style inn or the outdoor beer garden. Special needs require 24-hour notice. Contact Badger Region information desk at hotel. Architectural Tour—Visit three buildings, all unique designs. The War Memorial was designed by FinnishAmerican Eero Saarinen and dedicated on Veterans Day in 1957. The Milwaukee Art Museum was designed by Spaniard Santiago Calatrava. Third on the tour is the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, designed by Wisconsin native Frank Lloyd Wright. Includes box lunch.
