About this document
The What's New Guide for SAP Lumira provides a complete list of the new features for SAP Lumira available in the
latest release. You can find information about all the new products and features that are supported in this release.
Features in the SAP Lumira section are available across Lumira Desktop, Cloud, and Server. If there are
enhancements or features unique to one Lumira product, that product will receive its own section.
For the latest information on supported data sources, middleware, and service pack versions for SAP Lumira,
refer to the SAP Product Availability Matrix .

2.1
Welcome to SAP Lumira 1.22
SAP Lumira is a data visualization and story creation tool. You can connect to multiple data sources to create
datasets that can be enhanced with measures, hierarchies, calculations, and customized columns. A wide range
of editing tools allow you to manipulate, edit, format, and streamline your data before you start to create graphical
visualizations.
You can visualize your data using a range of chart and table types. By grouping charts together on presentation
style dashboards you can create a visual narrative to describe your data.
SAP Lumira is installed locally and can operate on either remote or local data. The charts built on these datasets
can be printed or distributed by email. Your stories can be published to the SAP Lumira Cloud, SAP Lumira Server,
and the SAP Business Intelligence platform. Your datasets can be published to SAP HANA, SAP Explorer, SAP
Lumira Cloud, SAP Lumira Server, and SAP Business Intelligence.
A dataset and its charts that you create in SAP Lumira are saved in documents with the file format .lums. This is a
document that contains the data source connection information, the data definition and data, and the
visualizations.
2.2
What's new in SAP Lumira 1.22
New or updated features across Lumira Desktop, Server, and Cloud.
Language support
Starting with this release Lumira will include support for Hungarian.
Export to PDF
You can now export documents to PDF.
●
For Desktop: From the Share room or by selected File > Export as File.
●
For Server and Cloud: Click the Export button in either the Visualization or Compose room.

SAP Lumira
Dynamic text
Users can now create text elements with dynamic text that will be updated when the dataset is refreshed,
ensuring up-to-date content. The update parameters for the text can be defined using the formula editor when
adding dynamic text in Lumira’s Compose room. See the SAP Lumira User Guide for more details.
You can save documents created in SAP Lumira to SAP Lumira, Edge edition
SAP Lumira, Edge edition is a lightweight document storage solution for use in deployment environments without
SAP HANA or the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform. It is ideal for securely storing and sharing
SAP Lumira content in small groups of collaborators.
This feature is available in SAP Lumira, standard edition.
You can save documents created in SAP Lumira to SAP BusinessObjects
Business Intelligence (BI) platform
SAP BusinessObjects BI platform provides flexible systems management for BI on a proven, scalable, and
adaptive service-oriented architecture. Current BI platform clients can use their existing environment to securely
store and share SAP Lumira content in their organization.
This feature is available in SAP Lumira, standard edition.
Stories are easier to create
Creating and working with stories is easier and more intuitive. For example:

When you add an element to an infographic page, you can apply continuous scrolling to the page if the
element expands the page height.
●
Page sections can be displayed on a grid.
●
You can embed and overlay multiple elements in a section. The elements are grouped and you can style and
scale elements. For example, a chart is a group because it is a collection of individual elements.
●
You have more control and flexibility over where to place elements on the page, and elements can be resized
as needed.

What's new in SAP Lumira Cloud 1.22
New or updated features specific to Lumira Cloud.
User grouping
With an SAP Lumira Cloud Enterprise Edition license, team owners and administrators can create multiple groups
and subgroups of users within the team. Within a group or subgroup, users can share files with the other
members of that group or subgroup.
The Lumira Cloud API also allows you to add group management to any custom applications. You can create or
delete groups, add or remove members from groups, or see the members that belong to a group.
