Freda A. (Beeson) Naylor,
77, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Golden Living Center.
She was born at Greens Fork
on December 2, 1937 to Gerald
and Elizabeth (Stonecipher)
Beeson and lived most of her
life in the Hagerstown area.
Freda was a graduate of
Hagerstown High School, was
a retired employee of Perfect
Circle / Dana Corp., and had
been active with Interaction of
Richmond and PWP.
Survivors include 3 children,
Terry Black (Jack), Robert
Naylor and W. David Naylor;
6 grandchildren, Jay Black,
Christy Black Hutchens, Julie
Black Baker, Jonathan Black,
Tiffany Naylor and Lindsey
Naylor; 3 great grandchildren;
a brother, Jim Beeson and 2
sisters, Mary Jean Culy (Ed)
and Peggy Gunn (Dwayne).
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by
her step-mother, Nora (Bruner) Beeson and 2 brothers, Jerome and Jerry Beeson.
A celebration of Freda's life
was held on Saturday, January
10, at The Meeting Place. Culberson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Pamela Jo Beckman
Pamela Jo Beckman, age
69, formerly of Richmond,
died Friday, January 2, 2015,
at Indiana University Health
Hospital.
Born November 21, 1945, in
Richmond, to John Carl and
Bernice Coulter Beckman II,
Pam was a 1964 graduate of
Richmond High School. She
earned her bachelor’s degree
in accounting from Ball State
University in 1968 and her
master’s degree in hospital administration from Indiana University. Pam earned her CPA
and worked for many years for
Hancock County Hospital.
Survivors
include
her
brothers, Michael R. (Linda) Beckman of Richmond
and John Carl Beckman III
of Richmond; three nieces,
Jane L. Drake
Sarah Kelley of Indianapolis,
Indiana, Julie (Dr. Darren)
Meyer of Michigan, and Lisa
(Tony) Kaiser of Vincennes,
chael S. (Rose) Beckman of
New Castle, Indiana, Curtis
A. Beckman of Fishers, Indiana, Matthew W. (Katelyn)
diana, Dennis Beckman of
Richmond, and Brian (Betsy)
Beckman of Greens Fork, Indiana; numerous great-nieces
and great-nephews; uncles,
Bob Beckman of Richmond,
Joe Beckman of Hollywood,
Florida, and Russell Coulter of
Richmond; cousins; and many
friends, including Judi Beeson
of Richmond and Sandy Ward
of Atlanta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and brother, Steven W. Beckman and his wife,
Carolyn.
Funeral services were Friday,
January 9, 2015, at Doan &
Mills Funeral Home. Burial
was in Earlham Cemetery.

Gerald G. Davis, 86, of Williamsburg, passed away on
Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at
Friends Fellowship Community.
He was born in Randolph
County, Indiana on June 7, 1928
to Harry C. and Grace Kelley
Davis. He was a 1946 graduate
of Williamsburg High School.
He married the former Evelyn
Smith on June 12, 1949. They
were blessed with four children
and shared nearly 51 years of
marriage before her death on
May 1, 2000.
Gerald was a member of the
Williamsburg Friends Meeting
and had attended the Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene.
He was a dairy farmer for several years and drove a bulk truck
for Wayne Dairy, from where
he retired in 1993 after 30 years
of service. He was an accomplished pianist who considered
George Gershwin his favorite
composer.
Gerald was a charter member
of the Economy Lions Club and
later was a member of the Williamsburg Lions Club. He was
a member of Gideons International and enjoyed Bible study.
He was an avid reader who also
enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He enjoyed traveling and
was a fan of Cincinnati Reds
baseball.
Gerald will be missed by his
wife, Marie; daughters, Tambrey Williamson and her husband, David; Tallie Davis Lester and Tenley Horner and her
husband, Verlin; son, Randy
Davis and his wife, Ellie; Marie's children, Melva Kolopanis
and her husband, Larry, Brenda
Irvin and her husband, Randy;
Cyndi Frame and her husband,
Doug McKensie; Rita Frame;
and Tim Frame and his wife,
Julie; grandchildren, Emily (J.L)
Gray, Tamra Davis, Molly Davis, Isaac (Erika) Horner, Taylor
(Elizabeth) Horner, and Mary
Horner;
great-grandchildren,
Zachary Gray, Quinn Gray,

Banquet February 2nd
Come celebrate the 67th year
of the Soil and Water Conservation District in Wayne
County at their annual banquet on Monday, February
2nd at 6:30 pm in the Kuhlman Center, Wayne County
4-H Fairgrounds. The evening
will begin with a catered dinner by Rihm’s of Cambridge
City. The doors will open at
6:00 pm. Conservation award
presentations and an election
of supervisor will be held following the dinner.

evening will be Katie Stam
Irk, Miss America 2009. Ka
America from the state of Indiana in the pageant’s 88-year
history. She continues traveling the country on her national
speaking tour as an advocate,
spokeswoman, host, author,

School Bus Fire Press Release
On Monday, January 5,
2015 the Wayne County Sheriff's Department investigated
a complaint of a school bus

Road and Abington Pike intersection. Information given to
E911 by complainants stated
the bus had exploded and was

had been evacuated and were
sheltered in a residence with
no injuries.
