There are certainly some topographical changes in the site due to implementation of the units under expansion. Existing land is more or less flat without many undulations. Construction workers are being taken from local areas only for implementation of expansion units. Hence no housing is proposed for construction workers. In the remaining unimplemented units of DRI kilns, Induction furnaces, Rolled products & Ferro alloys also closed circuit cooling system will be adopted in the expansion project. Effluent from power plant such as boiler blow down, DM Plant regeneration will have pH between 9.5 and 10.5. All the solid wastes generated from the proposed project will be reused/disposed as per CPCB norms only. Slag generated during the manufacturing of the Billets will be crushed and after recovery of iron the inert material will be used as landfill.
