Children’s Remedial Fund – A program intended to provide financial
support to eligible families in Steele County who have children ages 0 –
18 with medical, dental, vision, hearing, school supplies and winter
clothing needs. This program can also assist with the first 3 months of

Children’s Support Group – The Crisis Resource Center (125 Front
St W in Owatonna) provides a Children's Support Group for ages 4-12
that focuses on giving children the skills they need to process what has
been going on in their lives, helps to develop coping skills, deal with peer
pressure and learn different techniques to deal with anger and stress.
This group also deals with fun issues such as emotions, friendships and
self-esteem.

Compassionate Friends – A mutual assistance, not-for-profit
self-help organization that offers support and understanding to
families who have experienced the death of a child. It is open to
anyone, is non-denominational and there is no charge. The Owatonna
Area Chapter of The Compassionate Friends provides a caring
environment where bereaved parents and other adult family members
can meet and receive support and understanding from those who have
experienced a similar loss. Sibling support for teens and young adults is
also offered. The Owatonna Area Chapter of TCF will be holding their

Diabetes Support Groups
Owatonna – (for all of Steele County) This support group is for
individuals with diabetes and their families. It is free and does not

Owatonna, Migrant Health Service, Inc. (MHSI) is a private, non-profit
organization established in 1973 that serves the health needs of migrant
and seasonal farm workers (MSFW) and their family members. We also
see uninsured, non-farm workers who are looking for affordable
healthcare. Qualifying patients, which includes farm workers and their
family members, will be eligible for vouchers that offer limited benefits for
medical, lab/x-ray, dental and pharmacy referrals. There is a co-payment
for each voucher issued. Our Owatonna clinic is open during the months

this is for teens that may prefer more of a small group setting gathering,
teen moms and/or those who may not be attending school right now but

Walk With Me – is Young Life’s one-to-one mentoring program that
pairs an adult with a kid who wants to go deeper in their faith. Jane
