The Advisory Board will conduct two open houses to solicit public input prior to their final recommendation to the Cape Girardeau County Commission, January 26, 2015. This report provides each Department with an opportunity to reflect and outline accomplishments from the previous year and list goals to be accomplished for the current year. It is an impressive report. Our employees work hard! John E. Mitchell founded a town in Georgia in 1911 and named it in honor of the daughter of his friend and business associate R. M. McCombs of Jackson. Named after Helen Elizabeth McCombs, the town is Helen, Georgia. Our Boards have exchanged proclamations designating Helen and Jackson as Sister Cities. Helen, Georgia, is a well -known Alpine Village tourist attraction. I’ve never been there so if any of you vacation in that area, stop by to see it. Let me know about it.
