Functions / Responsibilities:


Ensure a Store Risk policy is drafted and displayed in conjunction with company policy and
procedures;
Ensure the Makro Risk Management program is established and maintained – a minimum audit
result not less than 95% is required
Strategic Risks and Operational Risks must be identified and be placed on a Store Risk Register
Ensure identified risks are reviewed by Store Executive on a regular basis, documented and the
register updated with changes
Log all occurrences into the Incident Manager database
Ensure an Information Reporting Structure is established and communicated to employees for the
following: Emergency situations, OHS, Insurance claims, COID claims and ECR
Ensure an effective fire detection and prevention program is in place
Control business interruption and recovery planning i.e. identify critical business systemsand
processes and establish alternatives
Ensure 100% compliance with legislative requirements
Foster relationships with all stakeholders, i.e. management, staff, shop stewards and external
stakeholders
Ensure compliance with Makro disciplinary procedure, staff development and succession planning
policies
Efficient and effective manning of the business at all times with permanent and contractors to:





 Detect and prevent staff collusion
 Detect and minimize shrinkage
 Ensure regular checks are carried out in receiving
 Monitor high risk areas on a regular basis
Building capacity of own staff through coaching and training & development
Handle customer and staff arrests
Liaise timeously with executive team regarding all risk related issues
Manage and control external security services and maintain accurate and complete administration
Ensure that all periodic audits are carried out as per Makro Polies and procedures.










Requirements:










Matric or equivalent qualification is required
Relevant Tertiary qualification will be required
Minimum 5 years management experience in this type of filed would be an advantage
Strong attention to detail and administration
A high standard of work practices
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Mature and responsible with a high degree of follow up skills
The ability to plan , organise and control own and other activities
A high level of drive and energy







Knowledge of SAP Retail and Stock Control systems, Makro Systems and procedures would be an
advantage
.Knowledge of OHAS Act is required

Ability to work under pressure with constant accuracy
Must be willing to work weekends, public holidays and overtime
Own reliable transport is essential
Must be prepared to be on 24 hour call out.
