MISSION STATEMENT
MISSION STATEMENT
The 2015 ICOI Winter Implant Symposium’s goal is to provide the attendees with a balanced clinical and
scientific view of the evolution of implant dentistry. Starting with implant site development through hard
and soft tissue regeneration all the way to temporization, all aspects of implant dentistry will be examined
and brought up to date with current concepts and philosophies. Cutting edge technologies will be
presented to help the clinician see the advantages of today’s technological advances in the implant therapy
and patient education. The symposium will also address current concepts in screw-retained versus cement
retained restorations.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this symposium, attendees will:
• Discuss the evolution of root form implants from their introduction into the
profession today
• Recognize the impact of digital technologies on the practice of dentistry
and dental education
• Learn an extra treatment modality that avoids extensive surgery, both with
immediate and delayed loading
• Identify and discuss controversies in dental implants
• Review the management of difficult implant situations
• Understand how to achieve improved predictability for dental implant placement
• Explore clinical attributes of screw retained vs. cement retained provisionals
An independent two and a half (2½) day main podium and/or choice of certification programs
will be offered to all team members by our auxiliary section, the ADIA. Delegates are welcome
to attend any session.

I want to personally welcome you to the ICOI 2015 Winter Implant Symposium in sunny Orlando,
Florida, January 22-24, 2015. Starting with Dr. Per-Ingvar Branemark’s serendipitous discovery
of osseointegration, implants have revolutionized dentistry. Today, we regenerate patients’ form,
function and esthetics. We are truly changing lives.
With the help of our illustrious global faculty, we will look at lessons taught and lessons learned.
From the early years of the ubiquitous 3.75 mm commercially pure titanium implants to the wide
array of sizes and surfaces we have today, we will follow the evolution of dental implants and the
science that has brought us to the current cutting edge of implant dentistry.
I invite you and your staff to take full advantage of the curriculum. The line-up begins with the
pre-symposium lectures and workshops on Thursday morning and continues with the auxiliary
program and the main podium speakers until Saturday afternoon. This symposium promises to
bring you close to the forefront of the field.

MISSION STATEMENT
This ADIA Symposium is aimed at enhancing the understanding and providing
education for implementing best practices in clinical care, office management
and patient communication/education for dental implant offices. We will also
focus on enhancing the understanding of patient assessment, treatment planning,
and clinical procedures through all phases of implant dentistry. New concepts,
techniques and technologies will be presented to keep team members on the
cutting edge of advances in implant dentistry.

A major goal of the ADIA educational programs is to help create well-rounded, cross trained auxiliaries.
There is value in having a team that is trained in ALL aspects of implant dentistry, as well as, the personal value
the auxiliary will possess. We hope that all team members will aspire to achieve Fellowship in the ADIA and
one means of attaining this goal is to be sure to attend each of the certification programs regardless of your
given position in the practice. We respect the individual needs of our attendees and encourage them to review
the doctors’ main podium topics for areas of advanced needs and interests with attendance at no cost. For more

The ADIA has gone “Green” and we will no longer provide printed handouts for participants at meetings. ADIA
pre-registered participants will receive an email with a password to access the ADIA website in order to print
the handouts themselves. Handouts will be available on the website 2 weeks prior to each meeting and for
3 weeks after. It is important that all ADIA registrants provide their email address to the main ICOI office at
[email protected]. For onsite registrants, the ADIA web address and password will be provided in
the registration packet. In this way, on site registrants can print the handouts at their hotel or wait until after
the meeting.
