I plan to talk about a project I’m involved in called Thinkspace - a space in
schools where students can give up their free time to learn to code. I hope to
inspire other schools to set up their own Thinkspace. I also want to talk about

just a data storage system?
Dartmouth Academy is, according to David Carter, the South West
Commissioner for Schools, ’one of the best examples of an all through
Academy in the country’. Championed by its Assistant-Principal, Andrew
Carpenter, is tracking pupil progress using Guy Claxton’s learning muscles and
building students learning power. This approach is engaging staff and learners,
and having a huge positive impact on allowing students to drive their own
learning. Staff focus their time and energy on helping and guiding this process.
Using Progresso MIS, capturing evidence at the point of learning and sharing it,
in real time, with other staff, SLT, governors and parents, Dartmouth can point
to a management system which impacts on outcomes and enhances teaching
and learning.

Using App Creation Across The Curriculum
This session will demonstrate how a group of mixed ability pupils were
engaged and enthused by learning how to create their own apps. With no
previous experience in app creation, staff and pupils will demonstrate how
they learnt new skills including how to use a variety of easily accessible
software, how to code and how to solve real world problems through the
innovative use of new technologies, many of which had not previously been
used in school. The session will also demonstrate how the skills learnt can be

By the end of the Academic Year 2013-2014 Shelfield Community Academy will
have implemented a revised programme for the implementation of 1-1 devices
for all students and teaching staff at the Academy. In preparation for planning
for the implementation of this new 1-1 project Shelfield Learning Technologies
Team, led by Dean Lloyd-Jones commissioned a review of current use of ICT at
Shelfield Community Academy. In this session, Assistant Headteacher Dean
Lloyd Jones and colleagues will share there experiences of implementing 1-1,
from professional development, to exploitation of social and digital media,
discovering technical solutions, measuring impact and much more.

The capacity demands of BYOD and 1:1 initiatives, as well as security mandates
are swiftly making high-performance, reliable and secure Wi-Fi networks the
new normal for schools. Administrators are facing significant obstacles as they

ZUMOS: Resilience is measurable, today
Zumos consists of expert written, peer reviewed, motivational support, vocal
recordings, anonymously accessed by pupils, with further support information
in the form of web links, helplines, suggested reading, books and videos, all of
which have been passed through a due diligence procedure. Schools are able
to see statistical information on what pupils are accessing and all information
is fully controlled by the school. The first online service of its kind is going into
its third year and is already available to almost 140,000 pupils in the UK.
"ZUMOS is presenting the pupils with the correct choices and information
rather than them having to wade through endless untested search results. The
schools don’t have to pay for the service. It can be funded by a mixture of
sponsors, charities grants and the big lottery,” says Gary Siva, CEO of Insight
and Motivation Ltd, the company that is providing the ZUMOS service. A team
of specialists including Doctors, GP’s, psychotherapists, counselors, life
coaches, nutritional therapists and other professionals have written scripts to
advise pupils on many topics - from dealing with various emotional issues,
fears and phobias, to coaching on health, relationships, sex, money and work
issues.

Our students work in a 1:1 4:model. From 7th to 9th year (400 students) they
use their own android tablet and they are free to carry their mobile phones. Of
course, we don’t ban mobile devices, but we want to educate our students to
use them responsibly. This educational goal is supported by three principles:

- Respect for the classroom environment and privacy rights

Interdisciplinary Augmented Reality Implementation
We will talk about how did we combine Pyhsical Education lesson with Turkish
lesson. We want students to bring their own devices(BYOD). We stick the qr
codes some places in the school yard. And we gave them maps of schools that
we prepared. Like they are playing orienteering they follow the targets and
answer the questions on qr codes. And they also find some words in every
correct answer. So the winner student was who bring together correctly words
