ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST BULLETIN Significant weather observations
♦ Dense/very dense fog has been observed at isolated places over East Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Madhya Pradesh. The visibility (50 m or less) has been recorded at 0830 hours IST of today: Ludhiana, Patiala, Bhagalpur, Kota, Gwalior, Bhopal and Varanasi.
♦ Yesterday, cold day conditions were prevailed at many places over Punjab; at a few places over West Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh; at isolated places over Haryana and East Rajasthan.
Main Weather Observations
♦ Rainfall: (From 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today): Rain/snow has occurred at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershower occurred at many places over Delhi; at a few places over West Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan. Weather remained dry over rest of the country. The amounts of rainfall (1 cm and more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Meerut, Datia, Jhansi, Nowgong, Khajuraho, Shivpuri and Guna­1 each.
♦ Minimum temperatures are below normal by 2­4°C at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Saurashtra & Kutch; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Odisha. They are above normal by 2­5°C at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada; at a few places over East Rajasthan, Kerala; at isolated places over Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Tamilnadu and nearly normal over rest of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 2.8°C has been recorded at Hissar ( Haryana ) in plains of the country.
♦ Kalpana 1: Cloud imagery of 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andaman sea and south Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over the country outside West Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0830 hours IST) ♦ The Western Disturbance as a trough in mid­tropospheric westerlies roughly along Longitude 72.0°E and north of Latitude 25.0°N persists.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over south Rajasthan & neighbourhood now lies over East Rajasthan & neighbourhood and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.
♦ The trough of low at mean sea level over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka persists.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over Tripura & neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level persists.
♦ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Lakshadweep area & neighbourhood and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.

♦ Cold day conditions would occur at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and West Madhya Pradesh.
28 January (Day 3):♦ Dense fog would occur at a few places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.
Weather Outlook for subsequent 4 days From 29th January 2015 to 2nd February 2015
♦ A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan region from 31st January.
♦ Rain/ thundershowers would occur at isolated places places over east and northeast India.
♦ Weather would be dry over rest of the country.
