Monday 16 March 2015 MORNING ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST BULLETIN Significant weather observations ♦ Thunderstorms have been observed at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Haryana & Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala during past 24 hours. Main Weather Observations ♦ Rainfall: (From 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of yesterday): Rain/snow occurred at most places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershower occurred at most places over East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh; at many places over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over West Rajasthan; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. The amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Banihal, Quazigund, Batote, Baderwah and Sheopur3 each; Ganganagar, Kota, Gwalior & Mukteshwar2 each; Jammu, Katra, Kupwara, Kokernag, Jabalpur & Damoh1 each. ♦ Yesterday, the maximum temperatures were below normal by 610°C at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh; a few places over Himachal Pradesh; by 25°C at most places over Bihar, Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and North Interior Karnataka; at many places over Vidarbha and interior Tamilnadu and at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh. They were above normal by 24°C at many places over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and West Bengal & Sikkim; at a few places over Odisha; at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala and near normal over rest of the country. ♦ Kalpana 1: Cloud imagery of 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over most parts of Jammu & Kashmir and some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country. Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0530 hours IST) ♦ The western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over Pakistan & neighbourhood, now lies over north Pakistan & adjoining Jammu & Kashmir and extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level. The induced low pressure area over West Rajasthan and neighbourhood with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 2.1 km above mean sea level persists.
