Jackson County has two full-time openings in the Information
Systems Department.
PC/Network Specialist I
This is a full time position with benefits. The PC/Network Specialist I
performs a variety of technical work in the development, installation,
and maintenance of County network and telecommunications
systems; and provides technical assistance and leadership to
departments in the delivery of information technology solutions.
Minimum requirements for this position include two years of
post-secondary education in MIS or a related field with Microsoft
operating systems, networked personal computer hardware
and software, and/or TCP/IP network systems, or equivalent.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, good
communication skills, and a valid driver’s license is required.
Microsoft Certifications and Citrix Xenapp or Presentation Server
certification or experience, as well as two years of working
experience is desirable.
This position is classified in Grade 10 of the County Compensation
Plan. Starting salary is dependent upon qualifications, but is
usually within the hiring range of $17.08 – $18.22 per hour. This is
a full-time position working 40 hours per week with a competitive
benefits package, including health insurance. This position will be
primarily based in Windom, MN.
Administrative Assistant/Software Specialist
This is a new full time position with benefits. The Administrative
Assistant/Software Specialist is responsible for providing
administrative, clerical and end user software support for the
Information Systems department.
Minimum requirements for this position include two years of postsecondary education in computer support or a related field OR
two years of recent experience working with Microsoft operating
systems and Office programs, networked personal computer
software, or equivalent. A valid driver’s license is required.
Microsoft Certifications are desirable.
This position is tentatively classified in Grade 9 of the County
Compensation Plan.
Starting salary is dependent upon
qualifications, but is usually within the tentative hiring range of
$16.04 – $17.11 per hour. This is a full-time position working 40
hours per week with a competitive benefits package, including
health insurance.
