Archbishop Aquila has chosen as
his episcopal motto,
“Do whatever he tells you
(Jn 2:5)” which fits perfectly with
our 2015 theme.
Archbishop Aquila was
ordained to the priesthood in
Denver in 1976 and served the Archdiocese for 25 years
before being appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Fargo in
2001. In 2002 he became Bishop of Fargo and was installed as the new Archbishop of Denver in 2012.

Michael Coren

admired journalist and writer
who thoughtfully and
forcefully addresses important
and emerging social, moral and
religious issues. For more than
12 years he was host/producer
of The Michael Coren Show on
Crossroads Television, presenting more than 3,000
episodes and winning numerous awards. He is also a
columnist for The Catholic Register and The Catholic
World Report and is the best-selling author of fifteen
books, including biographies of; G.K. Chesterton, H.G.
Wells, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. His recent books
include Why Catholics Are Right and Hatred: Islam’s
War on Christianity. In 2005 he won The Ed Murrow
Award for Radio Broadcasting, in 2006 The RTNDA
Radio Broadcasting Award, in 2007 The Communicator Award in Hollywood and in 2008 The Omni Award
for his television show. In 2012 The Catholic Civil
Rights League gave Coren The Archbishop Adam Exner
Award for Catholic Excellence in Public Life, and in the
same year he was awarded The Queen’s Jubilee Medal
for services to media.

Sherry Weddell
Sherry Weddell created the Called &
Gifted discernment process, the first
gifts discernment program designed
especially for Catholics.
She co-founded the Catherine of Siena Institute in 1997 with Fr. Michael
Sweeney, OP.
The Institute’s mission is to equip
parishes to form lay apostles.
Since then, Sherry and her international team of collaborators have worked in well over 500 parishes in 130
dioceses on five continents. They have helped 80,000+
Catholics to discern how God has called and gifted them,
and trained another 25,000 Catholic leaders to make disciples and form apostles in and through the local parish.
Sherry is the author of the best-selling book, Forming
Intentional Disciples: The Path to Knowing and Following
Jesus as well as the editor of and a contributor to Forming
a Parish of Intentional Disciples (2015).
When Sherry is not on the road, she enjoys living in and
exploring the Colorado Rockies and tending her high
altitude Tuscan garden.

Fr. Leo Patalinghug
Fr. Leo Patalinghug was born
in the Philippines and raised in
the Baltimore area. Fr. Leo is a
priest member of a community
of consecrated life, Voluntas
Dei (Latin phrase that means
“The Will of God”). He is the
Founder, Host, and Director of
Grace Before Meals, an international apostolate to help
strengthen families and relationships through God’s
gift of a family meal. Along with his priestly duties, Fr.
Leo is the host for the TV Show Savoring our Faith on
EWTN, Co-Host for the radio show Entertaining Truth
on Sirius XM Radio, and bestselling author, contributor for newspapers and magazines. Fr. Leo has been
featured on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, EWTN, and even the
Food Network, where Fr. Leo defeated a world famous
chef in a cooking competition called, “Throw Down!
With Bobby Flay.” His message combines faithful
Catholic theology presented in a way that everyone can
understand and appreciate.

Mother Assumpta Long, O.P.
Mother Mary Assumpta Long,
O.P. is the Prioress General and
one of four founding members of
the Dominican Sisters of Mary,
Mother of the Eucharist, in Ann
Arbor, Michigan. The Community was formed as a response
to the call of Pope John Paul II
issued in his Post-Synodal Exhortation, Vita Consecrata,
to establish new foundations that will “bear witness to
the constant attraction which the total gift of self to the
Lord…continues to exert even on the present generation
(VC, 12).” The community has grown from four to over
100 sisters since its foundation in February 1997 and presently has sisters teaching in eleven dioceses and in Rome.
Mother Assumpta holds a S.T.L. in Sacred Theology from
the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas. She has
formerly served as President of the Forum of Major Superiors and has also served on various boards, including the
Institute on Religious Life.

Rick Santorum
Former U.S. Senator and 2012
Presidential Candidate Rick
Santorum is CEO of EchoLight

voice was being represented. His grassroots approach
to campaigning – led him to win the Iowa Caucus and

Republican primary process. Prior to running for President, Rick served in the U.S. House of Representatives
from 1991 to 1995, and in the U.S. Senate from 1995 to
2007 where he was known as one of the most successful
government reformers in our history.
He wrote and championed legislation that outlawed the
heinous procedure known as Partial Birth Abortion as
well as the “Born Alive Infants Protection Act,” the
“Unborn Victims of Violence Act,” and the “Combating
Autism Act” because he believes each and every individual has value and the most vulnerable in our society need
to be protected.
Rick and his wife of 23 years, Karen, are the parents of
seven children: Elizabeth, John, Daniel, Sarah Maria,
Peter, Patrick and Isabella. And during his run for
president, Rick spoke passionately about his belief that
strong families help produce a strong economy.
Rick and Karen’s youngest daughter, Isabella, was born
with a condition called Trisomy 18, and who wasn’t expected to survive her first birthday. Beating all the odds,
Bella celebrated her 5th birthday in May of 2013 and is a
joyful and loving little girl. Bella’s miraculous life has only
strengthened Rick and Karen’s belief in the dignity of each
and every life. Santorum wrote the 2005 New York Times
best seller It Takes a Family. He is also the author of
American Patriots: Answering the Call to Freedom, which
highlights the heroic men and women who valiantly
fought to secure our God-given rights of life, liberty, and
the pursuit of happiness.

Andreas Widmer
Andreas Widmer is a Swiss business executive, speaker, academic,
and philanthropist based in the
United States. He teaches business at The Catholic University of
America where he is also Director
of Entrepreneurship Programs
and President of The Carpenter’s
Fund. He is the author of The Pope & The CEO: Pope
John Paul II’s Lessons to a Young Swiss Guard, a book
exploring leadership lessons that Widmer learned
serving as a Swiss Guard protecting Pope John Paul II
and refined during his career as a successful business
executive. He is a frequent speaker around the world
on issues related to business ethics, entrepreneurship,
business leadership, productivity, and the challenges
of executive management.

Pia de Solenni
Dr. Pia de Solenni is an ethicist and cultural analyst and is
an expert in issues relating to
women’s health, life issues, the
new feminism, Catholicism, and
culture. Her work has appeared
in various publications including; The Wall Street Journal
Europe, The Washington Post, National Catholic Reporter,
Our Sunday Visitor, and National Review Online. Dr.
de Solenni has participated in many radio and television talk shows on various topics. She has appeared on
MSNBC, “Hardball with Chris Matthews”, “The O’Reilly
Factor”, CNN, and ABCNews. Dr. de Solenni received
her doctorate in sacred theology summa cum laude from
the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome and in
2001 she received the Award of the Pontifical Academies
for her thesis from John Paul II. Dr. de Solenni holds
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts-Great Books
from Thomas Aquinas College, California; a Sacred
Theology Baccalaureate from the Pontifical University of
St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), Rome; and a Sacred
Theology Licentiate from Holy Cross, Rome.

Fr. Paul Check
Fr. Paul N. Check was ordained a priest of the Diocese
of Bridgeport, CT in 1997. At the direction of Bishop
Lori in 2002, he established a
Courage chapter in his diocese
for which he continues to serve as
chaplain. He teaches fundamental
moral theology and sexual and
medical ethics to seminarians and
permanent deacon candidates in
the Bridgeport Diocese. Beginning in 1999, he has taught a course in moral theology
in the “Gift of Faith” syllabus for Blessed Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta. Father Check
graduated from Rice University, TX in 1981 with a BA
in history. He earned an STB from Gregorian University and an STL from the University of the Holy Cross
and served as a US Marine Corps officer for nine years
before entering the seminary. In 2008, he was selected
to serve as the Executive Director of Courage International and he spends much of his time traveling to
make presentations to clergy about the Church’s teaching about homosexuality and her pastoral response.

Curtis Martin
Curtis Martin is the Founder
and CEO of the Fellowship of
Catholic University Students
(FOCUS), one of the fastest growing programs in the
Catholic Church. Curtis holds a
Master’s degree in Theology and
is the author of the best-selling
book Made for More. In 2004, Curtis and his wife Michaelann were awarded the Benemerenti Medal by Saint
John Paul II for their outstanding service to the Church.
In 2011, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Curtis as a Consulter to the Pontifical Council of the New Evangelization. Curtis and his wife, Michaelann, live in Westminster, CO. They have been blessed with nine children.
